Abstract
Salah satu komoditas yang diprioritaskan dalam petrokimia hulu berdasarkan RIPIN 2025-2035 adalah metanol. Hal ini dikarenakan metanol telah banyak digunakan di berbagai sektor industri kimia sebagai pelarut, sebagai antifreeze, dan gas hydrate inhibitor pada industri migas. Metanol juga merupakan bahan baku yang memiliki banyak produk turunan. Pendirian pabrik metanol dari batubara selaras dengan rencana pemerintah Indonesia dalam RIPIN industri petrokimia hulu yang menargetkan teknologi produksi metanol dan amoniak melalui gasifikasi batubara pada 2020-2035, serta dalam Road Map Pengembangan dan Pemanfaatan Batubara Kementrian Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM) yang memprioritaskan pengembangan batubara untuk memproduksi metanol dan DME melalui gasifikasi pada 2021-2045. Berdasarkan pertimbangan di atas, sebagai bentuk dukungan terhadap program pemerintah dan memajukan industri kimia nasional, kami memilih desain pabrik metanol dengan bahan baku batubara kualitas rendah. Metanol dari batubara melalui beberapa tahapan proses yaitu Preparasi Batubara, Proses Gasifikasi, Proses Purifikasi Syngas dan Penyesuaian Nilai Stoikiometri, Proses Sintesis Metanol, dan Proses Purifikasi Metanol. Rencana pendirian pabrik ini akan dilakukan selama dua tahun dengan umur pabrik selama 15 tahun. Untuk memproduksi Methanol sebanyak 630.000 ton/tahun, diperlukan operating expenditures (OPEX) sebesar $110.382.415 dengan capital expenditures (CAPEX) sebesar $205.310.456 total penjualan sebesar $252.000.000. Sumber dana investasi berasal dari modal sendiri sebesar 40% dan modal pinjaman sebesar 60%. Berdasarkan analisa ekonomi, Internal Rate of Return (IRR) pabrik ini sebesar 28.69% dengan bunga sebesar 8% per tahun dan laju inflasi 2,18%. Sedangkan untuk Pay Out Time (POT) selama 6 tahun 6 bulan, Break Even Point (BEP) sebesar 29,62% kapasitas pabrik, dan Net Present Value (NPV) yang bernilai positif yaitu sebesar $327.164.565.Kata Kunci: Batubara, Methanol, Syngas

One of the prioritized commodities in upstream petrochemicals based on RIPIN 2025-2035 is methanol. This is because methanol has been widely used in various sectors of the chemical industry as a solvent, as an antifreeze, and a gas hydrate inhibitor in the oil and gas industry. Methanol is also a raw material that has many derivative products. The establishment of a methanol plant from coal is in line with the Indonesian government's plan in the upstream petrochemical industry RIPIN which targets methanol and ammonia production technology through coal gasification in 2020-2035, as well as in the Road Map for Coal Development and Utilization of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) which prioritizes development coal to produce methanol and DME through gasification in 2021-2045. Based on the above considerations, as a form of support for government programs and advancing the national chemical industry, we chose a methanol plant design using low quality coal as raw material. Methanol from coal goes through several process stages, namely Coal Pre-treatment Unit, Gasification Unit, Syngas Purification and Stoichiometric Number Adjustment Unit, Methanol Synthesis Unit, and Methanol Purification Unit. The plan to establish this factory will be carried out for two years with a factory life of 15 years. To produce 630,000 tonnes/year of Methanol, operating expenditures (OPEX) of $110.382.415 are required with capital expenditures (CAPEX) of $205.310.456, total sales of $252.000.000. The source of investment funds comes from own capital by 40% and loan capital by 60%. Based on economic analysis, the factory's Internal Rate of Return (IRR) is 28,69% with an interest rate of 8% per year and an inflation rate of 2,18%. As for the Pay Out Time (POT) for 6 years 6 months, the Break Even Point (BEP) is 29,62%, and the Net Present Value (NPV) which is positive is $327.164.565.Keywords: Coal, Methanol, Syngas
