Abstract

Raw mill is equipment used for the process of grinding mix pile material so that it becomes kiln feed as well as material drying using hot gas from the preheater suspension. The incoming materials are limestone, clay, silica sand and iron sand. The effectiveness of the Raw Mill work is greatly influenced by the drying system of the raw materials to be milled. This research was conducted with the aim of analyzing equipment efficiency, process efficiency and heat loss when using Raw Mill equipment temperature at the PT Semen Surabaya factory, to get heat loss efficiency results and according to parameters and to find out the cost savings and profit generated when doing optimization temperature will be applied to the PT Semen Surabaya factory. Calculation of heat efficiency of Raw Mill can be done in two stages, namely, mass balance and heat balance calculation. From the calculation of the heat balance, it can be known that the heat efficiency of the Raw Mill is assessed by assessing the work of the Raw Mill system, the heat ratio for the reaction with the heat provided. From the existing calculation using a drying temperature set of 430°C, the equipment efficiency is 84.04%, the process efficiency is 69.56% and the heat loss is 15.96%. From the calculation of the modification using the best drying temperature set at 395°C, an efficiency of 92% was obtained, a process efficiency of 77% and a heat loss of 7.99%. Because generally the tolerance limit for lost heat is 10-14% and the material yield is in accordance with the parameters
