Abstract

In the current situation, many jobs entail highly fatal consequences. Surveys over the past 30 years have shown that there have been 400 accidents resulting in environmental damage and contamination, with the majority of incidents related to fires and explosions caused by chemical leaks. One of the industries involved in chemical processing is the petrochemical industry. Based on these cases, the authors conducted research to prioritize jobs based on the risk of workplace accidents in the petrochemical industry using a web-based software system with the MCDM (Multiple Criteria Decision Making) method, namely AHP-TOPSIS. A petrochemical company, referred to as PT.XYZ, was the research object. This study used data from interviews with experts to form criteria and alternatives, which were processed using the AHP-TOPSIS method. The AHP-TOPSIS calculations were performed both manually and through a webbased design. From the seventeen alternatives calculated using the AHP-TOPSIS method, both in manual and web-based calculations, Maintenance Technician was ranked highest in the ranking process. The results were also validated by decision-makers, thereby making this web application useful for companies in making informed decisions.
