Abstract

Evolusi dari 5G menawarkan kecepatan yang sangat tinggi namun memicu bertambahnya jumlah user dengan jumlah yang sangat masif sehingga membutuhkan kapasitas tambahan dan data rate yang memadai. Menambah base station mungkin bisa mengatasi masalah tesebut namun juga menambah interferensi yang justru akan memperburuk kualitas sinyal. Metode coordinated multipoint (CoMP) ditawarkan untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut dimana beberapa base station saling berkoordinasi untuk mengurangi interferensi sehingga kualitas sinyal semakin baik. Pada penelitian ini ingin diteliti dampak dari metode transmisi CoMP pada downlink pada jaringan 5G dengan simulasi menggunakan software MATLAB. Simulasi dilakukan dengan menampilkan sketsa mapping dari UE dan gNB dengan posisi acak lalu menghitung SINR dan throughput yang merupakan parameter utama sebagai tolak ukur dari kinerja CoMP. Performa CoMP pada 5G RAN dengan frekuensi 30 GHz pada lingkungan LOS masuk ke dalam kategori normal dengan rata-rata SINR 8.78 dB, selain itu kinerja dari metode CoMP lebih baik daripada metode tanpa CoMP berdasarkan rata-rata SINR yang diperoleh yaitu 8.78 dB berbanding 5.73 dB.

The evolution of 5G offers very high speeds but triggers a massive increase in the number of users, requiring additional capacity and adequate data rates. Adding a base station might solve the problem, but it will also increase the interference which will actually worsen the signal quality. The coordinated multipoint (CoMP) method is offered to overcome this problem where several base stations coordinate with each other to reduce interference so that the signal quality gets better. Purpose of this study is examining the impact of the CoMP transmission method on the downlink on a 5G network by simulating using MATLAB software. The simulation is carried out by displaying mapping sketch of the UE and gNB with random positions and then calculating SINR and throughput which are the main parameters as a benchmark for CoMP performance. CoMP performance on 5G RAN with a frequency of 30 GHz in a LOS environment is in the normal category. The performance of CoMP on 5G RAN with a frequency of 30 GHz in the LOS environment is included in the normal category with an average SINR of 8.78 dB, besides that the performance of the CoMP method is better than the method without CoMP based on the average SINR obtained, which is 8.78 dB to 5.73 dB.
