Abstract

Wave generator yang digerakkan oleh motor listrik sebagai pembangkit berbagai macam jenis gelombang dengan frekuensi yang berbeda berperan penting untuk mengetahui fenomena yang terjadi pada Seakeeping Test kapal di kolam uji. Untuk mendapatkan data gelombang dari pembangkit gelombang diperlukan alternatif alat ukur gelombang yang betul-betul bisa mengukur perubahan ketinggian air di kolam pengujian. Alat ukur gelombang yang sudah ada saat ini berupa twin wire wave probe 600 mm sangat membantu dalam proses pengukuran gelombang di kolam pengujian, namun punya keterbatasan karena hanya ditempatkan pada satu lokasi tanpa dipindah-pindahkan. Metode yang digunakan adalah pembuatan alat ukur alternatif dengan menggunakan sensor ultrasonic serta hasil data divalidasi dengan alat ukur dari twin wire wave probe. Pada riset ini diharapkan alternatif alat ukur gelombang menggunakan ultrasonik mampu mengukur gelombang meski saat sedang berpindah titik pengukuran ke lokasi titik yang baru atau mengikuti kereta penarik (carriage) model kapal.

Wave generators driven by electric motors as generators of various waves with varying frequencies play an important role in understanding the phenomena that occur during the Seakeeping Test of ships in the test pool. To collect wave data from the wave generator, an alternate wave measuring apparatus that can measure changes in water level in the test pool is required. The existing wave measurement equipment, a 600 mm twin wire wave probe, is highly useful in measuring waves in the test pool. Still, it has limits because it is only positioned in one area and cannot be relocated. The method employed is the creation of alternative measuring instruments based on ultrasonic sensors, and the data obtained is validated using measuring instruments based on twin wire wave probes. The alternative wave measuring device utilizing ultrasonic is expected to be able to measure waves even while shifting the measurement point to a new point position or following a ship model carriage in this research.
