Abstract

Dewasa ini persaingan pada bisnis manufaktur semakin ketat. Hal tersebut terbukti berdasarkan data yang dihimpun oleh kementrian investasi, menyebutkan bahwa perusahaan manufaktur memiliki kontribusi sebesar 17,34% terhadap produk domestic bruto (PDB) Indonesia pada kuartal kedua tahun 2021. Ini menandakan bahwa perusahaan manufaktur di Indonesia semakin ekspansif. Maka dari itu perlu adanya strategi jitu agar perusahaan dapat terus bersaing di dunia bisnis manufaktur. Salah satu strateginya adalah meminimalisir biaya yang terbuang untuk operasional perusahaan, contohnya adalah proses produksi. Strategi tersebut dapat dijalankan dengan memposisikan fasilitas perusahaan secara terstruktur agar dapat digunakan dengan maksimal. Pada kasus optimasi, masalah ini biasa disebut dengan facility layout problem (FLP). Kasus FLP yang saat ini kerap digunakan adalah unequal area facility layout problem (UAFLP). Ini dikarenakan UAFLP memiliki satu komponen, yaitu panjang dan lebar. Dimana kasus tersebut cukup aplikatif untuk diterapkan didunia industri. Terdapat banyak metode metaheuristics yang dapat digunakan untuk menyelesaikan kasus tersebut, diantaranya adalah particle swarm optimization (PSO) dan differential evolution (DE). PSO memiliki kelebihan pada kecepatan proses yang tinggi dan juga memiliki solusi optimal yang cukup bagus. Lalu DE memiliki kelebihan pada kemampuannya untuk mencari global optimum yang bagus, karena metode ini merupakan pengembangan dari metode algoritma evolusi yang sebelumnya. Dengan kelebihan tersebut, maka penelitian ini akan melakukan hybrid particle swarm optimization - differential evolution untuk menyelesaikan masalah UAFLP. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa metode hybrid particle swarm optimization - differential evolution memiliki hasil yang lebih optimal jika dibandingkan dengan metode PSO dan DE biasa.

Today the competition in the manufacturing business is getting tougher. This is proven based on data compiled by the investment ministry, which states that manufacturing companies contributed 17.34% to Indonesia's gross domestic product (GDP) in the second quarter of 2021. This indicates that manufacturing companies in Indonesia are increasingly expansive. Therefore, it is necessary to have a precise strategy so that the company can continue to compete in the manufacturing business world. One of the strategies is to minimize wasted costs for the company's operations, for example, is the production process. This strategy can be carried out by positioning the company's facilities in a structured manner so that they can be used optimally. In the case of optimization, this problem is commonly known as the facility layout problem (FLP). The FLP case that is currently often used is the unequal area facility layout problem (UAFLP). This is because the UAFLP has one component, namely length and width. Where the case is quite applicable to be applied in the industrial world. There are many metaheuristics methods that can be used to solve this case, including particle swarm optimization (PSO) and differential evolution (DE). PSO has the advantage of high processing speed and also has a pretty good optimal solution. Then DE has an advantage in its ability to find a good global optimum, because this method is a development of the previous evolutionary algorithm method. With these advantages, this research will carry out a hybrid particle swarm optimization - differential evolution to solve the UAFLP problem. The experimental results show that the hybrid particle swarm optimization - differential evolution method has more optimal results when compared to the usual PSO and DE methods.
