Abstract

In the governance of industry in Indonesia, many terminologies are used to describe small enterprises, such as SMEs, MSMEs, SMI, or MSI. In this research, only the
terminology MSI (Micro and Small Industry), a processing industry with a workforce of fewer than 20 people, will be used. The government provides production machinery assistance to optimize MSI activities. However, the specifications of these machines often do not align with the needs and capabilities of the MSI operators, require a large amount of electricity, and are difficult to repair. Therefore, students from the Industrial Automation Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering are trying to create Karakuri which is cost effective and easy to repair production machine for 12 MSI BUMDesma Singosari.
In adopting Karakuri, MSI operators will demonstrate their intent to use it or not, which can be influenced by various factors that will be examined in this research. The research method used is TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) with a socio-technical system approach. There are two rounds of data collection conducted by distributing questionnaires to the MSI recipients of the Karakuri aid. Based on the data processing using ordinal logistic regression, it is found that the factors of organizational support, usefulness, and ease of use of Karakuri have a positive effect on the behavior and intent of the MSI to use Karakuri. Therefore, machine manufacturers and other relevant organizations need to consider these factors when providing production machinery to MSI.
