Abstract

Proses desain menggunakan force-based framework. Pengunjung memperoleh edukasi melalui pengalaman multi sensorik.

Ijen Geopark consists of geosites, biosites and culture-sites diversities as its geotourism potential. Site selection at Lava Plalangan, Ijen District, Bondowoso, is based on accessibility and tourism development. Site has geological objects in form of basalt-andesitic black lava rocks. This study aims to give concepts to design an educational geotourism that protect biodiversity with ecological architecture approach in terms of mass arrangement and spatial configuration, as well as sustainable structure that minimizes impact for black lava rocks on site and sustainable material with regionalism method. Design process uses force-based framework. Identified forces are black lava rocks, biodiversity, local materiality, mass arrangement, and spatial configuration. Design method uses regionalism that responds to site and enhances regional characteristics. Spatial configuration regards zoning, activity, and site contour. Mass arrangement regards accessibility, landscape, and site contour. Structural system uses “kolong” with “umpak” foundation to minimize black lava rocks damages. Material uses local wood and bamboo from site surroundings. Tourists are educated through multi-sensory experiences.
