Abstract
Lip cavity insert merupakan bagian dari komponen blow moulding untuk pembuatan produk botol plastik. Industri plastik X memiliki tiga macam produk dengan tipe MKP, AMDK, dan PS, ketiganya memiliki dimensi yang berbeda. Dalam proses manufaktur komponen ini, diperlukan proses pemesinan yang panjang, salah satunya adalah pemesinan CNC milling. Pada saat ini, proses set up benda kerja di mesin CNC milling cenderung lambat dan memerlukan alat bantu berupa fixture yang sesuai. Fixture yang digunakan saat ini ada tiga macam sesuai dengan jenis lip cavity insert, akibatnya ketika terjadi pergantian benda kerja, fixture harus dibongkar secara keseluruhan. Hal itu sangat tidak efisien waktu karena membutuhkan waktu tambahan antara 20-25 menit untuk memasang benda kerja, setting fixture pada meja mesin, dan setting zero point di mesin CNC milling. Penelitian ini dilakukan di divisi Mouldshop industri plastik X dengan mengaplikasikan teknologi Jig and fixture, dimana rancangan fixture ini nanti dalam satu unit fixture dapat digunakan untuk mengerjakan tiga macam tipe lip cavity insert. Dengan demikian akan mengurangi waktu setting fixture pada meja mesin dan setting zero point di mesin CNC milling. Rancangan fixture ini dalam sekali set up bisa berisi sebanyak 18 produk tipe MKP, 16 produk tipe AMDK, dan 12 produk tipe PS. Positioning benda kerja telah terjaga dengan mematikan 11 derajat kebebasan benda kerja. Penghematan waktu pada fixture yang baru ini dibandingkan dengan yang existing sebesar 26,31% untuk tipe MKP, 34,22% untuk tipe AMDK, dan 32,68% untuk tipe PS. Kekuatan fixture saat digunakan divalidasi melalui perhitungan secara teoritis dan simulasi menggunakan software, menunjukkan nilai tegangan maksimum von mises 1,3998 MPa < tegangan ijin material 206 MPa dengan nilai deformasi 0,00096 mm. =============================================================================================================================
Lip cavity insert is a part of blow molding component for manufacturing plastic bottle products. X plastic industry has three kinds of products with MKP, bottled water, and PS types, all of which have different dimensions. In the manufacturing process of these components, a long machining process is required, one of which is CNC milling machining. At this time, the process of setting up the workpiece on the CNC milling machine tends to be slow and requires a tool in the form of a suitable fixture. There are three kinds of fixture used today according to the type of lip cavity insert, as a result, when there is a change of workpiece, the fixture must be disassembled as a whole. This is very time inefficient because it requires additional time between 20-25 minutes to install the workpiece, set the fixture on the machine table, and set the zero point on the CNC milling machine. This research was conducted in the Moldshop division of X plastic industry by applying Jig and fixture technology, where this fixture design later in one fixture unit can be used to work on three types of lip cavity inserts. Thus it will reduce the fixture setting time on the machine table and zero point setting on the CNC milling machine. This fixture design in one set up can contain as many as 18 MKP type products, 16 bottled type products, and 12 PS type products. Positioning of the workpiece has been maintained by turning off 11 degrees of freedom of the workpiece. The time savings on this new fixture compared to the existing one is 11.84% for MKP type, 34,22% for AMDK type, and 32,68% for PS type. The strength of the fixture when used was validated through theoretical calculations and simulations using software, showing a maximum von mises stress value of 1.3998 MPa < material allowable stress of 206 MPa with a deformation value of 0.00096 mm.
