Abstract

Laju pengembalian modal (Internal Rate of Return) adalah 49,42% per tahun. Waktu pengembalian modal (Pay Out Time) diperkirakan sekitar 1 tahun 7 bulan. Titik impas (Break Even Point) berada pada 28%.

The pulp and paper industry in Indonesia plays a significant role in the national economy. It has promising prospects for the future and is poised for continuous growth. This is supported by ample market opportunities both domestically and internationally. The diversity of plant species in Indonesia contributes to the potential for alternative raw materials in the pulp and paper industry. One notable initiative is the substitution of wood, the original raw material, with a more cost-effective option: bagasse or sugarcane waste. Before being transformed into pulp, the bagasse undergoes a depithing process to remove the pith component and ensure its longevity during storage. Pre-treatment involves using a Steam Explosion Reactor to separate the hemicellulose components. Delignification is then carried out with the addition of NaOH to separate lignin from cellulose pulp. The cellulose pulp is subsequently bleached using a solution of H2O2 and NaOH to obtain high-quality pulp. The factory is designed to have a lifespan of 10 years, with a construction period of 5 years. It has a fixed capital of $9.093.386,13 and a working capital of $1.364.007,92. By employing the discounted cash flow method, the calculated Net Present Value (NPV) amounts to $24.366.919, with a discounted factor of 10%. The Internal Rate of Return (IRR) stands at 49,42%per year. The payback period (Pay Out Time) is estimated to be 1year and 7 months. The break-even point is at 28%.
