Abstract

Pedestrian paths in urban planning must be designed to be easily accessible by all users, especially pedestrians, so that pedestrians can carry out their activities safely and without disturbance. With the nickname "City of Tourism and City of Students", Malang City must have good accessibility because a city is required to be able to provide facilities for its citizens to do activities. As a commercial area and one of the tourist attractions of Malang City, the pedestrian paths along the Kayutangan Corridor on Jalan Basuki Rahmat still have many shortcomings in terms of facilities and infrastructure that are friendly to being accessed by persons with disabilities. So that in this study the formulation of the problem and the research questions can be drawn. The purpose of this study was to find out what factors influence the effectiveness of disability-friendly pedestrian pathways to support the Kayutangan commercial corridor. The research was conducted by conducting a primary survey by observing and distributing questionnaires to 60 respondents and a secondary survey through literature studies related to disability-friendly pedestrian paths. This research consists of three stages of analysis: the first is to identify components of disability-friendly pedestrian paths with descriptive analysis; then, from the results of the user's questionnaire, a second analysis is carried out, namely IPA analysis, which has previously been tested for validity and reliability. Based on the research results, it was found that the ramp and ladder variables were factors that were considered important by users but had low performance. As well as the variable lamp, sidewalk size, surface texture and material, passing place, and guide lane or guide block, these are factors that are considered important by pedestrian path users and have performance that meets user expectations. From these results, a third stage is carried out, namely triangulation analysis, which will produce directions for structuring corridors with disability-friendly pedestrian paths by synthesizing the results of research identification, theory, or policy, as well as previous studies
