Abstract

Museum is a forum that serves to protect, develop and communicate historical and cultural collections from the past to society. Apart from being a house of preservation and security for cultural heritage, the presence of the museum serves to foster a sense of nationalism and love for the culture of the motherland. However, along with the emergence of globalization led to the fading of people's values and awareness of the importance of studying and preserving our own culture. Museums today have to compete quite fiercely with various similar entertainment media, such as cafes and malls. Both areas tend to be chosen by most people because the perceived atmosphere is more attractive. In fact, some stereotypes of museums in Indonesia are still partly tied to the image of a dull, creepy, and haunted atmosphere. In fact, the museum itself serves as a bridge of communication between the people and cultures that live hand in hand. Looking at these problems, interior design is one of the right ways to dispel stereotypes and produce a museum that attracts more people. By adjusting the development of modern trends, proper arrangement and interior design, it is hoped that it can produce a museum that attracts public interest while increasing public awareness of the importance of maintaining cultural heritage.
