Abstract

Industri kertas telah mengalami perkembangan pesat atas peningkatan permintaan dan perubahan tren konsumen. Menanggapi penurunan permintaan kertas koran, banyak perusahaan kertas beralih memproduksi kertas liner. Linerbag dengan ketebalan 125gsm, digunakan dalam berbagai aplikasi seperti pembuatan kantong kertas untuk industri makanan, pertanian, dan logistik. Permintaan Linerbag yang terus meningkat mendorong perusahaan kertas untuk mengoptimalkan kapasitas produksinya di segmen ini. Salah satu aspek penting dari produksi linerbag adalah penggunaan dryer pada mesin kertas. Hasil dari perhitungan untuk redesain didapatkan jumlah cylinder dryer seharusnya adalah 25 unit maka perlu dilakukan penambahan 3 unit karena ketersediaan unit saat ini adalah 22 cylinder dryer. Pada penelitian ini diperoleh kenaikan kapasitas produksi sebesar 32% dan efisiensi terhadap waktu pengeringan setelah redesain sebesar 58%. Dari hasil redesain juga menunjukkan perolehan BEP sebesar 40% dengan nilai IRR sebesar 29% dan POT sebesar 4.44 Tahun.

The paper industry has experienced rapid development due to increasing demand and changing consumer trends. Responding to the decline in demand for newsprint, many paper companies have switched to producing liner paper. Linerbags with a thickness of 125gsm, are used in various applications such as making paper bags for the food, agriculture and logistics industries. The demand for Linerbags that continues to increase encourages paper companies to optimize their production capacity in this segment. One important aspect of linerbag production is the use of dryers in paper machines. The results of the calculations for redesign show that the number of cylinder dryers should be 25 units, so it is necessary to add 3 units because the current availability of units is 22 cylinder dryers. In this study, it was obtained an increase in production capacity of 32% and an efficiency of drying time after redesign of 58%. From the results of the redesign also shows the acquisition of a BEP of 40% with an IRR value of 29% and a POT of 4.44 years.
