Abstract

PT Fabrikasi Kereta Api merupakan perusahaan manufaktur kereta api terintegrasi pertama di Asia Tenggara dengan produk utamanya yaitu gerbong barang, kereta penumpang, dan kereta berpenggerak. PT Fabrikasi Kereta Api mempunyai permasalahan pada tata letak fasilitas pada proses finishing yang berdampak pada keterlambatan produk – produk yang harus diselesaikan. Tata letak fasilitas yang tepat merupakan faktor penting yang menunjang operasional sistem produksi dapat berjalan dengan biaya operasional yang minimal. Penelitian ini mengusulkan perancangan ulang tata letak fasilitas pada proses finishng PT Fabrikasi Kereta Api. Metode yang digunakan yaitu optimasi kualitatif dan optimasi kuantitatif. Optimasi kualitatif dilakukan dengan teknik konvensional menggunakan activity relationship chart (ARC) dan activity relationship diagram (ARD). Optimasi kuantitatif dilakukan menggunakan Group Technology dan algoritma BLOCPLAN. Penelitian ini menghasilkan dua rekomendasi tata letak alternatif. Tata letak perbaikan yang dipilih adalah tata letak alternatif 2. Perubahan yang terjadi pada tata letak ini adalah perubahan aliran proses pada gedung component fitting 1, component fitting 3, painting 2 dan penambahan dua component storage pada area barat dan area timur. Tata letak alternatif 2 berhasil melakukan penghematan biaya material handling sebesar 40% biaya material handling eksisting atau setara dengan Rp 12.477.616. Jarak perpindahan material berhasil direduksi sebesar 31% atau setara dengan 2.701,8 meter. Dan manufacturing lead time pada proses finishing yang berhasil direduksi sebesar 33% atau setara 34.919 detik. Sedangkan tata letak alternatif 1 berhasil melakukan penghematan biaya material handling sebesar 30% atau setara dengan Rp 9.580.517. Dan jarak perpindahan material berhasil direduksi sebesar 18% atau setara dengan 1.598,5 meter.

PT Train Fabrication is the first integrated railway manufacturing company in Southeast Asia with its main products being freight cars, passenger trains, and driven trains. PT Fabrikasi Kereta Api has problems in the layout of facilities in the finishing process which has an impact on delays in products that must be completed. The right facility layout is an important factor that supports the operation of the production system can run with minimal operational costs. This study proposes to redesign the layout of facilities in the finishing process of PT Fabrikasi Kereta Api. The methods used are qualitative optimization and quantitative optimization. Qualitative optimization is carried out using conventional techniques using activity relationship charts (ARC) and activity relationship diagrams (ARD). Quantitative optimization is carried out using Group Technology and the BLOCPLAN algorithm. The study yielded two alternative layout recommendations. The improved layout chosen is alternate layout 2. Changes that occur in this layout are changes in the process flow in the component fitting 1 building, component fitting 3, painting 2 and the addition of two storage components in the west and east areas. Alternative layout 2 managed to save material handling costs by 40% of existing material handling costs or equivalent to Rp 12,477,616. And the material transfer distance was successfully reduced by 31% or equivalent to 2,701.8 meters. While the alternative layout 1 succeeded in blowing material handling costs by 30% or equivalent to Rp 9,580,517. And the material transfer distance was successfully reduced by 18% or equivalent to 1,598.5 meters
