Abstract

Perusahaan Panel Listrik (PPL) is a company that implements a make to order system by producing different electrical panels in terms of specifications and types according to customer wishes. However, currently, the problem faced by PPL is the long product turnaround time. One reason is misinformation on material availability. In addition, the delivery of information during the production process is still verbal so that a lot of information is not recorded and must repeat the delivery of information which will take time. The use of digital media in conveying information is also not optimal because it still only focuses on information in the form of reports. To make it easier to identify waste or waste that occurs, material flows and information flows will be mapped using Digital Value Stream Mapping (DVSM). In this study, the total lead time for the electrical panel production process was 460.58 hours with a value added activity proportion of 50.7% and a digital information flow score of 3.02. The identified waste will be searched for its root cause using Root Cause Analysis (RCA), where the waste found includes waiting, transportation, motion, defects, and inventory. By eliminating this waste and providing several recommendations for improvement, the total lead time for the electrical panel production process decreased to 457.03 hours with a value added activity proportion of 60% and a digital information flow score of 2.76.
