Abstract

This research aims to revitalize the influential train station buildings in big cities in facing the challenges of global warming and climate change. The problems are caused by the increase in carbon emissions that impact drought and rising temperatures in several areas. One of the contributing factors to carbon emissions is the high use of private vehicles in Indonesia, leading to daily traffic congestion. Therefore, a comfortable public transportation solution is needed for the community, so that they can realize its benefits for the environment. In this context, the concept of "Reboot of Futuristic Eco Architecture" along with Transit Oriented Development (TOD) with an ecological and futuristic architectural approach is proposed as a solution in redesigning the Gubeng train station to revive the functions that have been halted. The current Gubeng Surabaya station falls into the category of underdeveloped or dead, thus requiring revitalization to become an environmentally friendly and sustainable mode of transportation. Through a combination of ecological, futuristic, and TOD architecture, it is hoped that Gubeng Surabaya station can become a modern transportation hub, a symbol of innovation, eco-friendliness, and sustainability. The revitalization of this station will not only provide easy access for the public but also contribute to reducing carbon emissions and improving the quality of the environment in Surabaya City.
