Abstract

Motor bebek yang umum digunakan oleh petani dan pekebun di Indonesia untuk bekerja di daerah perdesaan tidak sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan medan yang dilalui. 1.000-3.000 kg muatan dibawa setiap harinya dengan motor bebek, padahal kapasitas maksimum standar motor bebek berkisar antara 100-200 kg. Hal ini terbukti dengan banyaknya petani yang melakukan modifikasi terhadap sepeda motornya, seperti menambahkan keranjang di belakang, ruang di sisi tengah, dan penyesuaian ban. Berdasarkan fenomena tersebut penulis meneliti aktivitas petani dan konfigurasi yang sesuai untuk mobilitas perkebunan. Dilakukan wawancara secara mendalam terhadap 3 narasumber untuk mengetahui kebutuhan pengguna, muatan yang di bawa, serta medan yang dilalui. Data tersebut diolah bersama dengan data sekunder dan dikaji menggunakan berbagai analisis. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah rumusan aktivitas petani terkait dengan sepeda motor, sehingga bisa menjadi rekomendasi untuk para desainer dalam merancang sepeda motor utilitas untuk pekerja kebun atau sepeda motor jenis lain yang serupa.

The moped commonly used by farmers and planters in Indonesia to work in the rural area is not following the needs and the terrain they are traversing. 1,000-3,000 kg of cargo is carried daily on mopeds, whereas the standard maximum capacity ranges from 100-200 kg. This phenomenon is proven by the fact that many farmers modify their motorbikes by adding a basket at the back, space in the middle, and adjusting the tires. Based on this phenomenon, the authors examine farmer activities and the appropriate configuration for plantation mobility. In-depth interviews were conducted with three informants to determine the users' needs, the loads they carried, and the terrain they traversed. The data is processed together with secondary data and studied using various analyses. The result of this study is the formulation of farmer activities related to motorbikes so that it can be a recommendation for designers in designing utility motorbikes for garden workers or other similar types of motorbikes.
