Abstract

Strategi less dominant memakai correlational strategy. Melalui analisis statistik deksriptif dan inferensial, peneliti mengidentifikasi hubungan place identity dan identity of community. Strategi dominant memakai qualitative strategy berbasis fenomenologi. Melalui thematic analysis model Miles dan Huberman, peneliti menganalisis penerapan identity of community.

Technology development with the emergence of co-working space, especially in Surabaya, is a startup in great demand. This research complements coworking space as representative place, namely Koridor Co-working Space and Urban Office. While startups dominated by Z and millennials, as user communities. Place identity is the identity of place. Identity of community is community identity. The two influence and reinforces the identity of each other. Co-working space can accommodate various startups, so self expression is essential. Co-working space needs to reveal its identity and the identity of its users, startups. Startups need to reflect identity but are constrained by limited control. Place identity and identity of community need to be integrated. There is still little research discussing place identity and identity of community that are specific to co-working space. This research needs to be carried out to identify relationship between place identity and identity of community, analyze the application of identity of community and formulate integration criteria of place identity and identity of community. This research uses intersubjective paradigm with combined strategy: dominant - less dominant. The less dominant uses correlation. Through descriptive and inferential statistical analysis, researcher identified the relationship between place identity and identity of community. The dominant uses qualitative based on phenomenology. Through Miles and Huberman's thematic analysis, researcher analyzed the application identity of community to co-working space. These results are combined through the joint display of data in tabular form to answer the integration criteria of place identity and identity of community in co-working space. Questionnaire to 75 respondents found that most sub-variables did not prove relations. However, two related sub-variables were found: education with the shape and form of buildings and income with materials. From semi-structured interviews, it is known that identity of community is expressed in 3 ways; visually, non-visually and members' perceptions. Under certain conditions, the expression identity of community through visuals does not want to appear, and co-working space also plays a role in expressing identity of community. Combining the two produces design and planning integration features so that the expression of place identity and identity of community can be carried out correctly.
