Abstract

Motor Brushless DC (BLDC) sudah banyak diaplikasikan dalam bidang transportasi elektrik. Karena pada motor BLDC mempunyai banyak keuntungan daripada pada motor DC konvensional dan perawatannya pun lebih mudah. Perawatan lebih mudah dilakukan karena di motor BLDC tidak ada perlu merawat brush yang terdapat di motor DC konvensional. Motor BLDC dapat bekerja dengan disuplai dari sumber tegangan DC. Sumber tegangan DC yang sekarang banyak digunakan adalah baterai. Karena baterai mempunyai harga relative murah. Selain mempunyai kelebihan tersebut, baterai mempunyai kelemahan yang membuat motor BLDC tidak bekerja secara efektif. Kelemahan tersebut adalah mepunyai kerapatan daya yang rendah dan cepat mangalami kerusakan karena cara kerjanya secara kimiawi. Oleh karena itu, dikembangkan dengan baterai dan ultracapacitor dikombinasikan dalam hybrid energy storage system (HESS). Hal itu dilakukan karena ultracapacitor memiliki kerapatan daya yang tinggi dan lebih awet dalam bekerja. Dalam penggunaan ultracapacitor-battery akan dihubungkan ke motor BLDC dengan asymmetric Z-source converter. Alasan menggunakan topologi Z-source converter karena hal ini mempunyai fitur DC-DC boost inverter with single stage yang artinya lebih murah dan mudah. Kemudian dapat meningkatkan keandalan ketika terjadi shoot through dalam fasa sehingga tidak merusak inverter.

Brushless DC motors have been used inelectric vehicle field. Because BLDC motors have many advantage than convensional motors and the maintenance is easier. The maintenance is easier because in BLDC motors there are no brush like in motor brush. BLDC motors can work with DC supply voltage. In nowdays, DC source voltage that many people used is battery. Because batteries have gooad price. Besides have advantages, batteries also have weakness that make the BLDC motor cannot work effevtively. That weakness is batteries have low power density and quickly breakdown due to its chemical way of working. Therefoe, it was developed combination of battery and ultracapacitor in a hybrid energy storage system (HESS). This is done because the ultracpacitor has high power density and is more durable in work. In the use of ultracapacitor-battery will be connected to BLDC motor with an asymmetric z-source converter. The reason for using z-source converter topology is because this converter has dc-dc boost inverter with single states feature wich means it is cheaper and easier. Then it can increase reliability when shoot-through occurs in phase so as not to damage the inverter.
