Abstract

Kafe sebagai ruang publik, dimana orang-orang dapat bersantai dan berinteraksi, yang saat ini keberadaannya terus berkembang. Seringkali pengunjung kafe mengambil foto untuk diabadikan dan kemudian membagikannya ke sosial media. Perkembangan teknologi informasi, khususnya smartphone, membuat keberadaan kafe-kafe dengan arsitekur unik, cepat tersebar dan menjadi popular. Hal tersebut berpengaruh terhadap profesi desainer, seperti arsitek. Mereka diharapkan mampu menciptakan bangunan dengan inovasi baru yang unik dan menarik dari segi keindahan. Berdasarkan fenomena-fenomena tersebut, jelas terlihat bahwa masyarakat memiliki kesadaran dan kepekaan terhadap keindahan bangunan. Salah satu kafe yang popular di sosial media sejak mulai dioperasikan tahun 2021 adalah WYAH Art and Creative Space (WYAH). WYAH dibangun di hutan pinggiran Desa Keliki, Kecamatan Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar. WYAH memiliki pesona tersendiri di mata pengunjungnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan hubungan antara konsep estetis arsitek dengan persepsi pengunjung pada bangunan WYAH. Penelitian ini menggunakan strategi kualitatif dengan pendekatan phenomenology. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis konten dan kritik arsitektur interpretatif. Dari penelitian yang dilakukan pada bangunan WYAH Ubud, ditemukan bahwa hubungan antara konsep estetis arsitek dengan persepsi pengunjung terletak pada cara arsitek mewujudkan kualitas estetis bangunannya dan cara pengunjung menikmati bangunan tersebut. Arsitek dari bangunan WYAH menciptakan kualitas estetis berdasarkan keindahan yang dapat dinikmati melalui indera widya dan citra. Disisi lainnya, persepsi yang diutarakan pengunjung terhadap bangunan WYAH juga didasari oleh kedua indera tersebut. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa salah satu penyebab fenomena bangunan popular adalah kesamaan cara pandang arsitek dan pengamat mengenai keindahan

A café, in line with its growing number of existence, has now become a public space in which people relax, and interact with their peers. Those visitors frequently take photos to be documented and later be posted on their social media accounts. In regards with this phenomenon, the development in information technology: smartphone, to be specific, has been rapidly wide-spreading the emergence of unique architectural-designed café, to soon become a popular spot to public. Hence, this automatically gives significant impacts on its designer – an architect. Architects are expected to both innovatively and aesthetically create unique and eye-striking buildings. From this point of view, it is clear that people have grown awareness and sensitivity to the aesthetic of buildings. WYAH Art and Creative Space (WYAH) is one café that social media has put into fame since it was first been opened in 2021. This café was built in an outskirt forest of Keliki Village, Ubud District, Gianyar Regency. WYAH possesses a great special appeal in its both tourists and visitors. This research aimed to find the relevance between concepts implemented by the architect and the visitors’ perception in the building of WYAH Art and Creative Space. In connection with the said purpose, this research applied qualitative strategy with phenomenological approach. Content analysis and interpretative architectural critiques were implemented for the analysis technique. A finding had been collected through the research done in WYAH Ubud, resulting in the fact that the correlation between the architects’ concept of aesthetic and the visitors’ perception took place in the method used by both the said architects to realize their buildings quality of aesthetic and the visitors to adore those buildings. WYAH’s aesthetic quality of the building was put into reality by its architects in regards to the beauty that can be enjoyed through the sense of sight and imagery. On the other hand, the revealed perception of the visitors towards the building of WYAH is as well based on the previously mentioned senses. In addition to the finding, it is concluded that one of the causes that prepared for the phenomenon of popular buildings was the mutual perspective of beauty owned by both the architects and the observers
