Abstract
Cooling tower banyak digunakan di industri untuk sistem pendinginan air. Pada cooling tower, air didinginkan menggunakan fan untuk menguapkan temperatur panas dari air ke atmosfer. Dengan adanya cooling tower tidak terlepas dari komponen-komponen yang digunakan. Maka dari itu diperlukan komponen pengganti material dengan komponen lokal sesuai dengan ketentuan tingkat komponen dalam negeri sesuai hasil siaran pers Kementerian Perindustrian yang menargetkan persentase target penggunaan komponen lokal untuk mesin sebesar 50% di tahun 2024. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada beberapa komponen yaitu pada frame ass y, casing supporter, filling supporter, dan water basin pada cooling tower dengan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Dengan data spesifikasi desain cooling tower tersebut, didapatkan perhitungan beban yang bekerja pada salah satu komponen misalnya frame ass y didapatkan nilai tegangan maksimum von mises sebesar 5,678 MPa dan telah ditentukan material yang digunakan adalah ASTM A48 Grade 20. Berdasarkan data, nilai tegangan izin material ASTM A48 Grade 20 sebesar 45,5055 MPa, dengan batas nilai safety factor sebesar 4. Apabila selisih simulasi dan teoritis kurang dari 10% maka bisa dikatakan hasil antara keduanya hampir tepat hingga dapat dikatakan material tersebut aman digunakan dan seterusnya hingga komponen casing supporter, filling supporter, dan water basin pada cooling tower. Penelitian ini nantinya dihasilkan beberapa komponen pada cooling tower setelah mengetahui besarnya beban yang bekerja. Dengan melakukan perhitungan dan simulasi nantinya dihasilkan data apakah bahan material yang dipilih cocok digunakan komponen cooling tower tersebut sehingga hasil dari analisa dan perhitungan dapat digunakan untuk meminimalisir penggunaan produk atau material bahan dari luar negeri sehingga part atau komponen tersebut dapat diproduksi dalam negeri sesuai peraturan TKDN di Indonesia.

Cooling towers are widely used in industry for water cooling systems. In the cooling tower, water is cooled using a fan to evaporate the hot temperature from the water into the atmosphere. With the cooling tower can not be separated from the components used. Therefore, it is necessary to replace material components with local components in accordance with the provisions on the level of domestic components according to the results of a press release from the Ministry of Industry which targets the percentage of the target use of local components for engines of 50% in 2024. This research was conducted on several components, namely the frame ass y, casing supporter, filling supporter, and water basin in the cooling tower with qualitative and quantitative methods. With the cooling tower design specification data, it is obtained that the calculation of the load acting on one of the components, for example the frame ass y, obtains a maximum von Mises stress value of 5.678 MPa and it has been determined that the material used is ASTM A48 Grade 20. Based on the data, the allowable stress value for ASTM material A48 Grade 20 is 45.5055 MPa, with a safety factor limit of 4. If the difference between the simulation and the theory is less than 10%, it can be said that the results between the two are almost correct so that it can be said that the material is safe to use and so on, up to the components of the casing supporter, filling supporter , and water basins in cooling towers. This research will produce several components in the cooling tower after knowing the magnitude of the work load. By carrying out calculations and simulations, data will be generated whether the selected materials are suitable for use with the cooling tower components so that the results of the analysis and calculations can be used to minimize the use of products or materials from abroad so that these parts or components can be produced domestically according to TKDN regulations in Indonesia.
