Abstract
Tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun plant Safety Instrumented System (SIS) pada water level tank sebagai alat pembelajaran untuk mahasiswa teknik instrumentasi pada Laboratorium Safety Instrumented System Departemen Teknik Instrumentasi Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah studi literatur, perancangan sistem, perancangan interface, pembuatan alat, dan pengujian safety system. Plant ini berfungsi untuk memberikan pengalaman belajar bagi mahasiswa teknik instrumentasi dalam memahami konsep kerja Safety Instrumented System pada water level tank. Plant safety system ini terdiri dari beberapa komponen utama, yaitu water level tank sebagai tempat plant beroperasi, float level switch sebagai switch ketika air mencapai titik high-high, high, low dan low-low, solenoid valve sebagai aktuator, PLC (programmable logic controller) sebagai kontroler yang menjalankan operasi sistem, pompa untuk mendorong air masuk ke level tank dan alarm dan LED sebagai indikator ketika plant beroperasi tidak sesuai set point. Hasil dari tugas akhir ini adalah sebuah plant safety instrumented system pada water level tank yang dapat berfungsi dengan baik ketika plant berjalan tidak sesuai set point. Ketika level switch mendeteksi ketinggian air pada LSLL (level switch low-low) di ketinggian 10 cm maka solenoid valve akan membuka sehingga menambah aliran input ke dalam level tank dan menyalakan alarm. Ketika sensor mendeteksi ketinggian air pada titik LSL (level switch low) di ketinggian 20 cm dan LSH (level switch high) di ketinggian 50 cm maka PLC akan menyalakan alarm. Kemudian ketika sensor mendeteksi ketinggian air pada LSHH (level switch high-high) di ketinggian 60 cm maka PLC akan memerintahkan pompa air untuk berhenti dan akan menyalakan alarm =====================================================================================================================================
This final project aims to design and construct a Safety Instrumented System (SIS) plant for a water level tank as a learning tool for instrumentation engineering students at the Safety Instrumented System Laboratory, Department of Instrumentation Engineering, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology. The methodology employed in this project includes literature study, system design, interface design, device fabrication, and safety system testing. The plant's primary function is to provide a learning experience for instrumentation engineering students to comprehend the working concepts of a Safety Instrumented System in a water level tank. The safety system plant comprises several key components, including the water level tank as the operational area, float level switches to detect high-high, high, low, and low-low water levels, a solenoid valve as the actuator, a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) as the system controller, a pump to supply water into the tank, and alarms and LEDs as indicators for deviations from the set point. The outcome of this final project is a functioning safety instrumented system plant for the water level tank, which operates effectively when the plant deviates from the set point. When the level switch detects water at the LSLL (level switch low-low) position at 10 cm, the solenoid valve will open, increasing the water flow into the tank, and the alarm will be activated. If the water level reaches the LSL (level switch low) position at 20 cm and the LSH (level switch high) position at 50 cm, the PLC will trigger the alarm. Subsequently, when the water level reaches the LSHH (level switch high-high) position at 60 cm, the PLC will command the water pump to stop and activate the alarm
