Abstract

Terdapat batu bara yang berceceran di belt conveyor, crusher house, transfer tower, serbuk batu bara yang beterbangan dari coal pulverizer, dan coal bunker pada proses pengangkutan batu bara dari jetty menuju coal bunker PT. PLN Nusantara Power PLTU Tanjung Awar-Awar. Batu bara yang berceceran ini dibersihkan melalui proses flushing menggunakan air tawar berupa reuse water menuju ke coal pond dimana pada kolam ini terdapat campuran antara reuse water dengan lumpur batu bara (slurry) hasil flushing. Fluida slurry pada coal pond khususnya pada pre-settlement regulating pool yang sudah dipisahkan lagi menjadi batu bara sebagai bahan bakar dan reuse water menjadi pembersihan batu bara yang berceceran. Lumpur batu bara dihisap menggunakan pompa coal sludge, namun pompa eksisting sudah rusak, sehingga diperlukan perancangan instalasi pompa dengan spesifikasi yang sesuai.
Tahapan pada proyek akhir ini meliputi: 1) Menghitung properties fluida campuran air dan serbuk batu bara (slurry)., 2) Menghitung Head efektif instalasi pompa baik secara analitis maupun numerik menggunakan software Pipe Flow Expert., 3) Memilih pompa dengan spesifikasi yang sesuai dengan kondisi lapangan., 4) Melakukan perancangan impeller yang sesuai dengan pompa.
Hasil menunjukkan bahwa fluida coal slurry memiliki properties yang meliputi massa jenis (ρ) sebesar 1078,43 kg/m3, specific gravity (SG) sebesar 1,1062, viskositas dinamik (μ) sebesar 0,00329 kg/ms. Head efektif instalasi (Heff¬) untuk fluida air secara analitik sebesar 24,75 m dan secara numerik menggunakan software Pipe Flow Expert sebesar 24,75 m dengan tingkat error 0,00276% yang berada pada batas yang diizinkan, yakni <0,2%. Pompa yang sesuai untuk coal slurry pada coal pond adalah dengan impeller tipe semi open moderate specific speed. Untuk dimensi hasil perancangan impeller meliputi diameter inlet (D1) 47 mm, diameter outlet (D2) 144 mm, sudut sudu inlet (B1) 19º, sudut sudu outlet (B2) 30º, dan jumlah sudu (z) 5 buah.

There are coals scattered on the belt conveyor, crusher house, transfer tower, coal powder flying from the coal pulverizer, and coal bunker in the process of transporting coal from the jetty to the coal bunker of PT PLN Nusantara Power PLTU Tanjung Awar-Awar. The scattered coal is cleaned through a flushing process using fresh water in the form of reuse water to the coal pond where in this pond there is a mixture of reuse water with coal mud (slurry) from flushing. The slurry fluid in the coal pond, especially in the pre-settlement regulating pool, has been separated again into coal as fuel and reuse water to clean up the scattered coal. Coal sludge is sucked using a coal sludge pump, but the existing pump is damaged, so it is necessary to design a pump installation with appropriate specifications.
The stages of this final project include: 1) Calculating the fluid properties of a mixture of water and coal powder (slurry)., 2) Calculating the effective head of the pump installation both analytically and numerically using Pipe Flow Expert software, 3) Selecting a pump with specifications that are in accordance with field conditions, 4) Designing an impeller that is suitable for the pump.
The results show that coal slurry fluid has properties including density (ρ) of 1078.43 kg/m3, specific gravity (SG) of 1.1062, dynamic viscosity (μ) of 0.00329 kg/ms. The effective installation head (Heff) for water fluid analytically is 24.75 m and numerically using Pipe Flow Expert software is 24.75 m with an error rate of 0.00276% which is within the permissible limit of <0.2%. The appropriate pump for coal slurry in the coal pond is with a semi-open type impeller moderate specific speed. For the dimensions of the impeller design results include inlet diameter (D1) 47 mm, outlet diameter (D2) 144 mm, inlet blade angle (B1) 19º, outlet blade angle (B2) 30º, and the number of blades (z) 5 pieces.
