Abstract

Brain tumors can be detected using the Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) method. This study aims to determine the quality of image processing results on Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) with Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) technique. This study was conducted using a 3 Tesla MRI, secondary Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) data of patients with brain tumors, and DSI Studio and Radiant Dicom software. The results of data processing in the form of fiber networks (fiber tracking) and Fractional Anisotropy (FA) values were obtained from DSI Studio and Maximum Intensity Projection (MIP) images were obtained from Radiant Dicom. Fiber tracking results show that the quality of image processing results with DTI techniques provide information about the direction and speed of air diffusion along the nerves so as to describe the visualization and analysis of brain connectivity structures. FA will be close to 0 if anisotropy is low and close to 1 if anisotropy is high. The quality of image processing results with MIP provides information about blood vessels, as well as visualization results of complex vascular structures. Thus, using this technique can help doctors understand the spatial relationship between neural network structures and identify abnormalities or disorders in the brain
