Abstract

Pacitan is one of the regions with a high potential for tsunamis, especially Teluk Teleng, Pacitan District. This is due to the fact that Pacitan Regency is located in the Java subduction zone, which experiences significant movement and generates seismic energy that can trigger tsunami waves. Several factors such as the geographical proximity to active tectonic plates and the history of previous tsunami events make this area in need of quantitative mapping of tsunami hazard levels. In an effort to mitigate the impact of megathrust earthquakes on the Pacitan coast, the objective of this study is to determine the areas affected by tsunami inundation in Teluk Teleng and create a tsunami hazard map. The method used is Geographic Information System (GIS) with a spatial approach and overlay weighting and scoring. The processing results show that areas with gently sloping morphology and slopes of 0-8%, as well as tsunami inundation greater than 3m, have the highest affected area, reaching 18.68 km2. The tsunami hazard map is obtained through the weighting of speed values with tsunami inundation height. The weighting is based on the inundation-to-speed matrix, which produces more accurate hazard scores. The map is classified into three sections: High Tsunami Risk Zone with an area of 19.05 km2, Medium Tsunami Risk Zone with an area of 2.29 km2, and Low Tsunami Risk Zone with an area of 2.59 km2. This research contributes to the understanding of the characteristics of tsunami hazards in Teluk Teleng, Pacitan, and can serve as a basis for mitigation efforts and reducing the risk of tsunami disasters in the coastal area.
