Abstract

Pada setiap kapal terdapat generator yang bertujuan untuk menyuplai energi listrik untuk peralatan-peralatan yang menggunakan energi listrik. Selain generator utama ini juga diperlukan penyuplai energi listrik cadangan yang dapat berupa generator emergency dan baterai. Apabila generator utama tidak dapat menyuplai energi listrik maka beban listrik ini akan dipindah ke baterai dan generator emergency. Untuk mempermudah proses perpindahan ini maka dibuatlah sistem automatic transfer switch (ATS) untuk memindah beban secara otomatis ke penyuplai listrik cadangan. Sistem ATS ini didesain dengan dua komponen utama, yaitu Automatic Change Over Switch (ACOS) dan Programmable Logic Controller(PLC) yang dimana ACOS berfungsi sebagai perangkat yang memindah beban dari generator utama, dan generator emergency, sedangkan PLC berfungsi sebagai perangkat yang dapat diprogram sedemikian rupa agar dapat memerintah ACOS untuk memindahkan beban sesuai ketentuan yang sudah ditetapkan dengan selang waktu yang sudah ditetapkan serta untuk mengirimkan email kondisi sumber listrik melalui jaringan internet.

In each ship, there is a generator aimed at supplying electrical energy to equipment that uses electricity. In addition to the main generator, backup power supplies are also necessary, which can be in the form of backup generators and batteries. If the main generator is unable to supply electrical energy, this electrical load will be transferred to the batteries and backup generator. To facilitate this transfer process, an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) system is created to automatically shift the load to the backup power supply. The ATS system is designed with two main components, namely the Automatic Change Over Switch (ACOS) and the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), where the ACOS functions as a device that transfers the load from the main generator and the backup generator, while the PLC acts as a device that can be programmed to command the ACOS to transfer the load according to predetermined conditions and time intervals, as well as to send email notifications about the power source conditions through the internet.
