Abstract
Biofouling merupakan proses alami di ekosistem laut yang menyebabkan micro dan macrofoulers seperti bakteri, alga, teritip, dan lain sebagainya dapat membentuk kolonisasi pada permukaan yang terendam. Biofouling dapat menyebabkan beberapa kerugian pada substrat buatan yang terendam, sehingga dalam penerapannya sudah dikembangkan cat anti fouling untuk mencegah dampak buruk penempelan tersebut. Adanya pengaruh penggunaan cat anti-fouling dapat diketahui dengan mengamati bagaimana penempelan biofoulers pada plat baja kapal yang digunakan sebagai objek dalam jangka waktu perendaman tertentu. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui keanekaragaman biofouler pada plat baja perlakuan coating antifouling dan non coating antifouling, mengetahui pengaruh periode perendaman 1, 2, dan 3 bulan pada kedua perlakuan cat terhadap luas penempelan, dan mengetahui pengaruh periode perendaman 1, 2, dan 3 bulan pada kedua perlakuan cat terhadap biomassa biofouler. Biofouler yang menempel pada plat baja perlakuan coating antifouling di antaranya yaitu Amphibalanus amphitrite, A. reticulatus, A. yariegatus, Photis sp., Melita sp., Tubularia sp., Hydroides sp., Spirorbis sp., dan Chicoreus sp.. Sedangkan pada perlakuan non coating antifouling di antaranya yaitu Amphibalanus amphitrite, A. reticulatus, A. variegatus, Striatobalanus amarylis., Megabalanus sp., Photis sp., Melita sp., Tubularia sp., Didemnum sp., Hydroides sp., Spirorbis sp., Bugula sp., dan Chicoreus sp. Hasil kuantitatif berupa interaksi antara periode perendaman plat baja pada perlakuan coating antifouling dan non coating antifouling tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap luas penempelan biofouler yang dibuktikan dengan hasil signifikansi ANOVA two way bernilai 0.383. Begitupun dengan hasil interaksi antara periode perendaman plat baja pada perlakuan coating antifouling dan non coating antifouling tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap biomassa biofouler yang dibuktikan dengan hasil signifikansi ANOVA two way bernilai 0.659. Sedangkan berdasarkan hasil kualitatif melalui identifikasi spesies diketahui terdapat pengaruh antara periode perendaman dan kedua perlakuan pada biofouler, yang dibuktikan dengan adanya perbedaan keanekaragaman serta jumlah individu spesies yang mampu menempel.

Biofouling is a natural process in marine ecosystems that causes micro and macrofoulers such as bacteria, algae, barnacles, and so on to form colonization on submerged surfaces. Biofouling can cause several disadvantages to submerged artificial substrates, so in practice anti-fouling paints have been developed to prevent the adverse effects of the attachment. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of biofoulers on steel plates treated with antifouling and non-coated antifouling coatings, to determine the effect of immersion periods of 1, 2, and 3 months on both paint treatments on the area of attachment, and to determine the effect of immersion periods of 1, 2, and 3 months on both paint treatment of biofouler biomass. The biofoulers attached to the steel plate treated with antifouling coating included Amphibalanus amphitrite, A. reticulatus, A. variegatus, Photis sp., Melita sp., Tubularia sp., Hydroides sp., Spirorbis sp., and Chicoreus sp.. While the treatment non antifouling coatings include Amphibalanus amphitrite, A. reticulatus, A. variegatus, Striatobalanus amarylis., Megabalanus sp., Photis sp., Melita sp., Tubularia sp., Didemnum sp., Hydroides sp., Spirorbis sp., Bugula sp., and Chicoreus sp. Quantitative results in the form of the interaction between the steel plate immersion period in the antifouling coating treatment and non-coating antifouling treatment did not have a significant effect on the area of biofouler attachment as evidenced by the results of a two way ANOVA significance value of 0.383. Likewise, the results of the treatments did not have a significant effect on biofouler biomass as evidenced by the results of a two-way ANOVA significance value of 0.659. Meanwhile, based on the qualitative results through species identification, there is an influence from treatments on biofouler, as evidenced by differences in species diversity and the number of individual species that are able to attach
