Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the feasibility of installation of a tidal turbine power plant in the Larantuka strait area according to the economic aspect, so it is hoped that the results of this paper can be a consideration for the government, investors, and consumers to continue this project. Based on the feasibility analysis of the installation of the 7 Mw Nova Tidal Turbine project, it was found that in generating power of 7 Mw, Tidal turbine can save diesel fuel costs of Rp216,444,332.160 in a day. Comparison between the LCOE from diesel generators before subsidies which is 3,655.09 (Rupiah / kWh) and the 7Mw Nova Tidal Energy project with a value of Rp2,823.23/Kwh, the LCOE from tidal turbines is cheaper than diesel generators. Therefore Project 7 Mw Nova tidal Turbine in the Larantuka strait is feasible to develop only if it is subsidized by the government.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kelayakan pemasangan pembangkit listrik turbin pasang surut di wilayah selat Larantuka sesuai aspek ekonomi, sehingga diharapkan hasil paper ini dapat menjadi pertimbangan bagi pemerintah, investor, dan konsumen untuk melanjutkan proyek ini. Berdasarkan analisis kelayakan instalasi proyek Nova Tidal Turbine 7 Mw, ditemukan bahwa dalam menghasilkan daya sebesar 7Mw, Tidal turbine dapat menghemat biaya solar sebesar Rp216,444,332.160 dalam sehari. Perbandingan LCOE dari pembangkit diesel sebelum subsidi yaitu 3.655,09 (Rupiah/kWh) dengan proyek Nova Tidal Energy 7Mw dengan nilai Rp2,823.23/Kwh, LCOE dari turbin pasang surut lebih murah dibandingkan pembangkit diesel. Oleh karena itu Proyek 7 Mw Nova tidal Turbine di selat Larantuka layak untuk dikembangkan Hanya jika disubsidi oleh pemerintah.
