Abstract

The payload capacity of vehicles, especially trucks, differs from one another depending on the number of axles, the number of tires and the size of the truck itself. There are several factors why overloaded trucks are dangerous. One example is road damage that can lead to accidents. One of the roads that is often damaged by vehicles that have a load exceeding capacity is the road at public facilities, namely gas stations. In this study using load cell sensors as weight sensors, warning systems and internet network connections (IoT). The payload weight value is displayed on the LCD, the smartphone and the warning system will respond to each weighing process. The research results showed that digital scales based on Arduino Uno which were designed using a 50 kg load cell sensor and the HX711 module worked well in reading loads. Based on variations in the mass values of the loads obtained from the tests, the readings of the tools still contain errors when compared to the actual values of the weights, but not too large. The reading time on the LCD, the bylink platform on the smartphone is 5-10 seconds for each weighing process and the warning system response works according to the predetermined load weight. Obtained an average percentage error value (error) of 97.34%, and an error value of 2.64%. . This shows that the process of reading the mass of the load by the tool is running well.
