Abstract

Multi-Purpose Electric Vehicle ITS (MEVITS) merupakan salah satu kendaraan listrik multi-guna dengan sumber tenaga baterai yang dikembangkan oleh Teknik mesin ITS. Penilaian kinerja struktur sasis kendaraan berkaitan dengan kekuatan dan kekakuannya untuk mencapai tingkat yang cukup dengan massa sesedikit mungkin. Hal ini bertujuan selain untuk mendapatkan struktur casis yang ringan agar konsumsi baterai lebih hemat, juga perlu perhitungan agar casis tetap mampu mengangkut banyak muatan dengan berbagai macam medan jalan. Pemodelan 3D desain sasis menggunakan software Solidwork. Setelah itu, analisis statis dan dinamis dilakukan di software Ansys. Analisa statis yang diterapkan adalah beban dari berat komponen kendaraan yaitu mesin dan transmisi, baterai, penumpang, dan muatan. Uji kekakuan torsional juga dilakukan untuk mengetahui ketahanannya saat melintasi medan ekstrem. Analisa modal digunakan untuk mendapatkan natural frekuensi, mode getar dan fungsi respon frekuensi struktur sasis. Analisis getaran acak dilakukan untuk mengetahui fatigue life sasis akibat pembebanan dinamis dari kekasaran permukaan jalan. Kekasaran permukaan jalan yang digunakan berdasarkan ISO 8608. Simulasi dilakukan dengan tiga variasi model struktur yang berbeda. Sasis original menggunakan material structural steel, modifikasi desain struktur sasis 1 menggunakan material structural steel dan menambahkan ketebalan cross member, dan Modifikasi desain struktur sasis 2 menggunakan material low carbon steel. Hal tersebut dilakukan untuk membandingkan dan mengetahui material dan bentuk yang terbaik untuk kerangka sasis MEvITS. Dari hasil simulasi statis massa komponen kendaraan, kekakuan torsional, analisis modal dan juga getaran acak modifikasi desain struktur sasis 1 menunjukkan peforma yang terbaik. Selain itu, menunjukkan faktor keamanan yang cukup tinggi dalam pembebanan massa komponen statis, menunjukkan kekakuan torsional yang paling tinggi dalam pembebanan torsional, dan memiliki frekuensi natural tertinggi di antara semua model sasis yang diuji. Selain itu, dalam pembebanan getaran acak, desain ini menunjukkan life fatigue yang hampir setara dengan model desain lainnya. Berdasarkan temuan ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa modifikasi desain 1 adalah pilihan terbaik sebagai bentuk sasis ladder frame MEvITS.

Multi-Purpose Electric Vehicle ITS (MEVITS) is a multi-purpose electric vehicle with a battery power source developed by ITS Mechanical Engineering. Assessment of the performance of the vehicle chassis structure relates to its strength and rigidity to achieve a sufficient level with as little mass as possible. This aims in addition to getting a lightweight chassis structure so that battery consumption is more efficient, it also needs calculations so that the chassis is still able to carry lots of loads with various kinds of road terrain. 3D modeling of chassis design using Solidwork software. After that, static and dynamic analysis is performed in Ansys software. The applied static analysis is the load from the weight of the vehicle components, namely the engine and transmission, battery, passengers, and payload. Torsional stiffness test is also carried out to determine its resistance when traversing extreme terrain. Modal analysis is used to obtain the natural frequency, vibration mode and frequency response function of the chassis structure. Random vibration analysis was carried out to determine the fatigue life of the chassis due to dynamic loading from road surface roughness. The road surface roughness used is based on ISO 8608. The simulation was carried out with three different variations of the structural model. The original chassis uses structural steel material, modified chassis structure design 1 uses structural steel material and adds cross member thickness, and modified chassis structure design 2 uses low carbon steel material. This was done to compare and find out the best material and shape for the MEvITS chassis framework. From the results of static simulation of vehicle component mass, torsional stiffness, modal analysis and also random vibration modification of the chassis structure design 1 shows the best performance. In addition, it shows a relatively high safety factor in static component mass loading, shows the highest torsional stiffness in torsional loading, and has the highest natural frequency among all the tested chassis models. In addition, under random vibration loading, this design exhibits a life fatigue that is almost on par with other design models. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that design modification 1 is the best choice for the MEvITS ladder frame chassis.
