Abstract

In measuring the difference in height (elevation) requires a flat level equipment or what is commonly called a waterpass. Waterpass is usually used by students or surveyors when measuring during the day, because it takes advantage of sunlight. As well as manual recording of the results of elevation measurements is still being carried out. The elevation measurement process is carried out by a minimum of 2 surveyors, 1 person as a waterpass holder while the other holds a measuring tape as a shooting target. The design of digital measuring signs is made to facilitate surveyors in measuring elevation. The use of a laser as a substitute for a waterpass that emits light can help surveyors in measuring at night. Use of Internet-based Internet of Things (IoT) Cloud communication media applications to record measurement results in the Google Sheet application. The Google Sheet displays the results of elevation measurements, namely the measured distance (cm) and the measurement time. From the results of the elevation test using 3 kinds of measurement methods, namely manual measurements, digital measurements without IoT, and digital measurements with IoT, which have an accuracy below the tolerance limit are manual measurements with an accuracy of -2 mm and digital measurements with IoT with an accuracy of -2 mm, the value the average error of the three types of measurement is 5.24%. The fastest measurement duration using the digital measurement method with IoT with a total duration of 79 minutes 26 seconds with an average measurement per station (stand) of 05 minutes 40 seconds. It can be concluded that digital measurements with IoT are better and more effective in terms of accuracy and duration of measurement time.
