Abstract

Pompa merupakan alat yang digunakan untuk memindahkan fluida dari suatu tempat ke tempat yang lain melalui saluran perpipaan dengan menambahkan energi pada fluida cair yang dipindahkan. Prinsip kerja pompa yaitu membuat perbedaan tekanan antara bagian suction dan discharge. Perbedaan tekanan tersebut didapat dari perputaran impeller. Impeller merupakan salah satu hal yang penting dalam sebuah pompa. Selain impeller, fluida kerja juga termasuk hal yang penting. Pada penelitian ini akan membahas bagaimana performa pompa pada pompa sentrifugal dengan closed dan semi-open impeller terhadap fluida viscous yaitu air, slurry, dan nira. Penelitian ini juga memvariasi flow rate dengan rentang 1,5 lps sampai dengan 5 lps terhadap head fungsi kapasitas dan efisiensi pompa sentrifugal menggunakan CFD. Pompa sentrifugal menggunakan impeller tipe backward dengan kecepatan impeller 1500 rpm. Analisa numerik pompa sentrifugal ini menggunakan model k-epsilon standart. Hasil simulasi akan divalidasikan dengan jurnal sebelumnya. Hasil yang di dapat dari penelitian ini adalah hasil kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil kualitatif berupa static pressure contour, total pressure contour, velocity contour, dan velocity vector. Sedangkan untuk data kuantitatif didapatkan data Head, daya, dan efisiensi yang disajikan dalam bentuk grafik fungsi kapasitas. Didapatkan hasil efisiensi tertinggi pada pompa sentrifugal fluida air closed impeller sebesar 65% pada flow rate 4 lps. Sedangkan pompa sentrifugal fluida air semi-open impeller effisiensi tertinggi sebesar 54% pada flow rate 4 lps. Namun, pada kondisi impeller yang sama, semakin tinggi nilai viskositas fluida cair maka semakin rendah nilai efisiensi pompa.

A pump is a device used to move fluid from one place to another through a piping channel by adding energy to the liquid fluid being moved. The working principle of the pump is to make a pressure difference between the suction and discharge parts. The pressure difference is obtained from the rotation of the impeller. The impeller is one of the important things in a pump. Apart from the impeller, the working fluid is also important. This study will discuss how the pump performance of centrifugal pumps with closed and semi-open impellers against viscous fluids, namely water, slurry, and sap. This study also varies the flow rate with a range of 1.5 lps to 5 lps on the head function of the capacity and efficiency of the centrifugal pump using CFD. The centrifugal pump uses a backward type impeller with an impeller speed of 1500 rpm. Numerical analysis of this centrifugal pump uses a standard k-epsilon model. The simulation results will be validated with previous journals. The results obtained from this research are qualitative and quantitative results. Qualitative results in the form of static pressure contour, total pressure contour, velocity contour, and velocity vector. As for quantitative data, Head, power, and efficiency data are obtained which are presented in the form of capacity function graphs. The highest efficiency results were obtained in the closed impeller water fluid centrifugal pump of 65% at a flow rate of 4 lps. While the semi-open impeller water fluid centrifugal pump has the highest efficiency of 54% at a flow rate of 4 lps. However, under the same impeller conditions, the higher the viscosity value of the liquid fluid, the lower the pump efficiency value.
