Abstract
Limbah cair tahu memiliki kandungan gas metana, karbondioksida, asam asetat, dan amonia yang berbahaya bagi lingkungan dan masyarakat sekitar sehingga perlu pengolahan limbah cair tahu terlebih dahulu sebelum dilakukan pembuangan ke sungai. Tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk mengurangi tingkat kekeruhan pada limbah cair tahu dengan metode elektrokoagulasi dan mengetahui pengaruh jarak antar elektroda pada metode elektrokoagulasi dalam mengurangi tingkat kekeruhan pada limbah cair tahu. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua buah akuarium yang terdiri dari, akuarium pertama sebagai tempat berjalannya proses elektrokoagulasi dan akuarium kedua sebagai tempat penampungan setelah proses filtrasi. Pengambilan data dilakukan menggunakan 10 plat stainless steel, kuat arus 5 A, dan waktu kontak selama 75 menit dengan variasi jarak antar elektroda 2 cm; 2,5 cm; 3 cm; dan 3,5 cm. Didapatkan nilai penurunan tingkat kekeruhan berturut-turut sebesar 53%, 67%, 54%, dan 87%. Penurunan tingkat kekeruhan yang efisien pada variasi jarak 3,5 cm dengan nilai penurunan tingkat kekeruhan sebesar 87%. ===============================================================================================================================
Tofu liquid waste contains methane gas, carbon dioxide, acetic acid, and Ammonia is harmful to the environment and the surrounding community, so it needs processing Liquid waste knows beforehand before being discharged into the river. this final project aims to reduce the level of turbidity in tofu liquid waste by the method electrocoagulation and determine the effect of the distance between the electrodes on the method electrocoagulation in reducing the level of turbidity in tofu liquid waste. This research using two aquariums consisting of, the first aquarium as a place the process of electrocoagulation and the second aquarium as a shelter after filtration process. Data collection was carried out using 10 stainless steel plates, a current strength of 5 A, and contact time for 75 minutes with a variation of the distance between the electrodes of 2 cm; 2.5cm; 3cm; and 3.5 cm. The turbidity reduction values obtained were 53%, 67%, 54%, and 87%. Efficient turbidity reduction at a distance variation of 3.5 cm with turbidity reduction value of 87%.
