Abstract

Sub DAS Gunting, located between Kediri, Jombang, and Mojokerto regencies, is an important part of the Brantas River Basin. It covers an area of 363 km2 and plays a significant role in Jombang regency. One of its roles is as a crucial water infiltration area for the environment. However, rapid population growth has led to changes in land use, reducing the water infiltration areas and causing issues such as floods and erosion. These flood disasters mainly affect several districts within the Sub DAS Gunting region, with Mojoagung district in Jombang regency being the most affected area, experiencing 10 floods in 2019. To address this issue, a spatial analysis using the scoring method was conducted to assess the critical level of water infiltration areas. Prior to the analysis, data collection involved slope maps, soil type maps, land cover maps, and regional rainfall data. The analysis was performed using ArcGIS and Microsoft Excel software. The suggested solutions include reforestation, changes in agricultural systems, the construction of reservoirs (embung), and the implementation of infiltration wells, considering the conditions of the Sub DAS Gunting land. The hydrological analysis results showed that the flood discharge in Sub DAS Gunting reached 598,105 m3/dt with a total runoff volume of 25920943,12 m3. The condition of natural infiltration potential was predominantly moderate, covering 50,11% of the total area of Sub DAS Gunting, while the land criticality condition was predominantly good, covering 43,35% of the area. Solutions to reduce flood discharge include reforestation, implementation of agroforestry systems, construction of embankments, and installation of infiltration wells. The top priority is land improvement, which can reduce the discharge by 44,747 m3/dt and the runoff volume by 1591687,5 m3. Infiltration wells are the second priority as they directly impact critical areas, resulting in a runoff volume reduction of 40,821.07 m3. Building embankments is the last priority due to the need for thorough planning and significant costs, but it can reduce the runoff volume by 300939,3 m3. The implementation of these solutions will be carried out simultaneously with a focus on land improvement.
