Abstract

Dengan kondisi darurat membaca yang terjadi di Indonesia, perpustakaan akan semakin berkurang peminat. Untuk menyesuaikan perkembangan zaman dan menarik peminat baca kembali, dibutuhkannya sebuah inovasi baru pada perpustakaan yang merupakan tempat berpusatnya buku. Laporan ini menggunakan beberapa teknik pengumpulan data primer yaitu, observasi, studi literatur, interview, dan kuisioner. Serta teknik pengumpulan data sekunder yaitu, artifact analysis dan tinjauan data internet. Dengan mengambil obyek Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Jawa Timur, terdapat beberapa permasalahan yang harus diatasi dengan melakukan perubahan pada desain interior agar terciptanya kenyamanan beraktivitas dan menarik minat baca masyarakat khususnya Jawa Timur. Biophilic adalah sebuah konsep yang umum dipakai di area perkotaan karena menghadirkan ruang hijau untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup yang mempengaruhi kesehatan, meningkatkan produktivitas, dan kesejahteraan fisiologis maupun psikologis manusia. Dengan mengaplikasikan konsep Biophilic pada perpustakaan, akan terciptanya ruang hijau pada perpustakaan sekaligus menyelesaikan permasalahan yang ada.

With the reading emergency in Indonesia, libraries will become less and less popular. To adapt to the times and attract reading enthusiasts again, a new innovation is needed in the library which is the center of books. This report uses several primary data collection techniques, namely, observation, literature study, interviews, and questionnaires. As well as secondary data collection techniques, namely, artifact analysis and internet data review. By taking the object of the East Java Provincial Library and Archives Office, there are several problems that must be overcome by making changes to the interior design in order to create a comfortable activity and attract people's interest in reading, especially East Java. Biophilic is a concept commonly used in urban areas because it presents green spaces to improve the quality of life that affects health, increases productivity, and human physiological and psychological well-being. By applying the Biophilic concept to the library, it will create a green space in the library while solving the existing problems.
