Abstract

Derawan Islands are located on the northern peninsula of the sea waters of Berau Regency, East Kalimantan. Derawan Archipelago consists of several islands that attract tourists due to their beautiful beaches and underwater scenery, including Maratua, Derawan, Sangalaki, and Kakaban Island. Derawan Islands are a National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN), because of the existence of tourism that has been widely known by domestic and foreign tourists. The semi-submarine lounge is designed as a tourism facility for the Derawan Islands. It is hoped that the design of the semi-submarine lounge can increase the progress of tourism infrastructure and increase people's income in the Derawan Islands. Semi-submarine can support tourism in Derawan Islands by planning a trip route divided into two with a speed of 8 knots. The payload on this ship is 25 passengers obtained from the questionnaire results and the results of forecasting the number of tourists in Derawan Islands. After conducting a technical analysis, the main dimensions are Lpp = 22 meters, LoA = 23.95 meters, B = 5.5 meters, H = 2.5 meters, and T = 2 meters with the type of ship material Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP). Design the Lines Plan, General Arrangement, Safety Plan, and 3D Model based on results of technical analysis. After conducting a comfort level analysis, semi-submarine can operate comfortably because the ship's comfort analysis does not exceed MSI's 10% limit. The cost of building a ship is Rp9,683,859,532. Then, the calculation of investment feasibility has a Present Net Value (NPV) of Rp9,106,310,718, the Internal Rate Return (IRR) value is 20%, and a Payback Period of 6 years 1 month and 1 day.
