Abstract

The Levelized Cost of Hydrogen (LCOH).

Indonesia is currently facing the problem of high carbon emissions which have an impact on increasing global temperatures and carbon taxes. Carbon emissions have increased annually by 5.5% which in 2022 is estimated to be 83 million tonnes of carbon emissions. To achieve this target, a change towards decarbonization is designed by constructing a Green Hydrogen Plant (GHP) using the electrolysis method. The method used in this research is economic feasibility analysis and will be selected by comparing the results of the economic analysis carried out. This research has two variations based on two sources of electrical energy and three electrolysis methods. Two sources of electrical energy, namely PV panels and the PLN network, while the three electrolysis methods are Alkaline Water Electrolysis (AWE), Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM), and Solid Oxide Electrolysis (SOEC). The calculation includes determining the number and specifications of equipment, investment prices and cash flow in GHP so as to produce NPV, IRR and BEP values as well as The Levelized Cost of Hydrogen (LCOH). Calculations that have been carried out on a 10 MW GHP system show that GHP-PEM with a PV network is more feasible and profitable to implement in investment in green hydrogen production in Kab. Gresik because the total value of hydrogen production and NPV is higher than some processes with PV panel or PLN grid sources. In addition, PEM also has a fairly mature technology level and a high level of purity, namely 99.995%.
