Abstract

PT. X merupakan sebuah perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang otomotif dengan proses bisnis utamanya adalah membuat dan merakit komponen kendaraan serta ekspoktir kendaraan. PT. X berencana untuk membuat sebuah consolidation center baru yang dapat memfasilitasi kegiatan ekspor komponen Completely Knockdown (CKD) melalui Pelabuhan Patimban. Consolidation center ini dibangun karena melihat peluang untuk memanfaatkan Pelabuhan Patimban sebagai pelabuhan baru yang dibangun dengan tujuan untuk mengurangi biaya logistik. Consolidation center tersebut harapannya dapat memfasilitasi proses ekspor komponen CKD yang saat ini dilakukan pada dua plant milik PT. X, yaitu plant Sunter 1 dan plant Sunter 2. Proses packing akan dilakukan pada consolidation center baru tersebut sebelum akhirnya dilakukan ekspor ke negara tujuan. Penelitian ini ingin membantu PT. X dalam merancang tata letak consolidation center yang baru dengan menggabungkan fungsi dari packing plant komponen CKD pada Sunter 1 dan Sunter 2. Perancangan tata letak fasilitas dilakukan dengan menentukan aliran material, menghitung jumlah kebutuhan workstation baru, dan melakukan iterasi percobaan tata letak dengan melakukan diskusi dengan pihak PT.X. Dengan tata letak fasilitas yang dihasilkan, dilakukan evaluasi tata letak fasilitas consolidation center baru dilihat pada aspek throughput, luas, jumlah equipment, dan jumlah manpower dibandingkan dengan jumlah total gabungan pada packing plant komponcn CKD Sunter 1 dan Sunter 2. Pada aspek throughput terdapat kenaikan pada consolidation center sebesar 20% untuk kontainer dan sebesar 17,24% untuk module jika dibandingkan dengan total yang ada pada packing plant komponen CKD Sunter 1 dan Sunter 2. Luas consolidation center mengalami penurunan sebesar 27,46% dibandingkan dengan total luas packing plant komponen CKD Sunter 1 dan Sunter 2. Jumlah manpower pada consolidation center mengalami penurunan sebesar 18,89% dibandingkan dengan total jumlah manpower pada packing plant komponen CKD Sunter 1 dan Sunter 2. Jumlah equipment pada consolidation center mengalami penurunan sebesar 23,81% untuk forklift dan 40% untuk towing jika dibandingkan dengan total jumlah equipment pada packing plant komponen CKD Sunter 1 dan Sunter 2. Throughput yang meningkat dengan sumber daya yang menurun dapat menunjukkan bahwa efisiensi dari tata letak fasilitas consolidation center sudah lebih baik dibandingkan dengan gabungan antara Sunter 1 dan Sunter 2

PT. X is a company engaged in the automotive sector with its main business process is to manufacture and assemble vehicle components and vehicle exporters. PT X plans to create a new consolidation center that can facilitate the export of Completely Knockdown (CKD) components through Patimban Port. This consolidation center was built because it sees an opportunity to take advantage of Patimban Port as a new port built with the aim of reducing logistics costs. The consolidation center is expected to facilitate the export process of CKD components which is currently carried out at two plants owned by PT. X, namely Sunter 1 plant and Sunter 2 plant. The packing process will be carried out at the new consolidation center before finally exporting to the destination country. This research wants to help PT.X in designing a new consolidation center layout by combining the functions of the CKD component packing plants at Sunter 1 and Sunter 2. The facility layout design is carried out by determining the material flow, calculating the number of new workstations needed, and iterating the layout experiment by conducting discussions with PT.X. With the resulting facility layout, an evaluation of the new consolidation center facility layout was carried out in terms of throughput, area, number of equipment, and number of manpower compared to the combined total number of packing plants for CKD components Sunter 1 and Sunter 2. In the throughput aspect, there was an increase in the consolidation center by 20% for containers and by 17.24% for modules when compared to the total in the packing plants for CKD components Sunter 1 and Sunter 2. The area of the consolidation center decreased by 27.46% compared to the total area of the packing plants for CKD components Sunter 1 and Sunter 2. The number of manpower at the consolidation center decreased by 18.89% compared to the total number of manpower at the packing plant of CKD components Sunter 1 and Sunter 2. The number of equipment at the consolidation center decreased by 23.81% for forklifts and 40% for towing when compared to the total number of equipment at the packing plant of CKD components Sunter 1 and Sunter 2. The increased throughput with decreased resources can show that the efficiency of the consolidation center facility layout is better than the combination of Sunter 1 and Sunter 2.
