Abstract

ALKI II annually passed by 36,773 ships, dominated by bulk carriers that transport iron ore from Australia to East Asia. There is a trend of building LNG-fueled bulk carriers as an alternative fuel that is more environmentally friendly, in accordance with International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. However, at ALKI II there is still no LNG fueled vessel filling facility available, so there are promising business opportunities in LNG bunkering vessel operations. This research is aimed at designing an LNG bunkering vessel to serve LNG-fueled ships at ALKI II. In this research, data collection was carried out for design development and technical calculations. The results are visualized in line plans, general plans, safety plans, piping diagrams and also 3D models. The results obtained in this final project are LNG bunkering vessels with the main dimensions of LPP: 104.3 m, LWL: 107.4 m, B: 18.44 m, H: 9 m, T: 5.7 m. This ship will serve LNG-based bulk carriers at ALKI II using 2 IMO Type C tanks with a total capacity of 8400 m3 . Fueled by dual fuel with a power of 3640 kW and operated by 20 crew members, this ship was built at a cost of USD 29,304,334.82.
