Abstract

Analisis biomarka fraksi hidrokarbon alifatik sampel Batubara Seam HU-07 pada Formasi Tanjung, Cekungan Barito, Kalimantan Tengah telah berhasil dilakukan dengan metode ekstraksi, fraksinasi, dan identifikasi biomarka dengan metode gabungan Kromatografi Gas - Spektrometri Massa (KG-SM). Analisis dilakukan untuk mengetahui karakteristik Batubara Seam HU-07 berupa masukan sumber bahan organik, lingkungan pengendapan, dan kematangan termal. Hasil identifikasi menunjukkan kelimpahan senyawa n-alkana dengan tipe bimodal yang menunjukkan masukan bahan organik yang berasal dari beberapa sumber. Beberapa parameter seperti CPI dengan nilai 1,45; AlkTerr (0,38), ACL (28,92), LMW/HMW (0,12), LHCPI (0,19), TAR (6,51), Wax Index (0,37), OEP-2 > OEP-1 (1,30 > 1,07), Pmar-aq (0,38), n-C31/n-C19 (4,33), n-C29/n-C17 (8,04), dan n-C17/n-C31 (0,15), serta kelompok triterpenoid pentasiklik menunjukkan masukan bahan organik yang berasal dari berbagai sumber. Melalui parameter CPI > 1, OEP > 1, Ts/(Ts+Tm) bernilai 0, rasio C30Mor/C30Hop sebesar 0,58, dan rasio C31 – C34 (22S/(22S+22R)) sebesar 0,59, 0,59, 0,60, dan 0,55 menunjukkan tingkat kematangan yang rendah pada sampel. Nilai rasio Pr/Ph > 3, keberadaan senyawa 4,4,8,8,9-pentametil decalin, kelimpahan C31 – C34 homohopana yang semakin rendah, serta plot Diagram Hunt antara Pr/n-C17 versus Ph/n-C18 menunjukkan lingkungan pengendapan oksik. Keberadaan beberapa biomarka pada Batubara Seam HU-07 menunjukkan masukan bahan organik yang bervariasi namun didominasi oleh tumbuhan terrestrial Angiospermae. Namun input bahan organik dari lingkungan akuatik dan bakteri juga terdeteksi pada Batubara Seam HU-07. Batubara Seam HU-07 Formasi Tanjung, Cekungan Barito, Kalimantan Tengah tergolong kerogen tipe III melalui plot Diagram Hunt antara Pr/n-C17 versus Ph/n-C18 yang cenderung menghasilkan gas (gas-prone) sehingga berpotensi sebagai sumber coalbed methane (CBM) di Indonesia.

Biomarkers analysis of aliphatic hydrocarbon fractions of Seam HU-07 Coal, in Tanjung Formation, Barito Basin, Central Kalimantan has been successfully carried out by extraction, fractionation and identification of biomarkers using the combined method of Gas Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). Analysis was carried out to determine the characteristics of Seam HU-07 Coal in the form of organic matter input, depositional environment, and thermal maturity. The results of the identification showed an abundance of n-alkane compounds with a bimodal type indicating the input of organic matter from several sources. Several parameters such as CPI (1.45); AlkTerr (0.38), ACL (28.92), LMW/HMW (0.12), LHCPI (0.19), TAR (6.51), Wax Index (0.37), OEP-2 > OEP -1 (1.30 > 1.07), Pmar-aq (0.38), n-C31/n-C19 (4.33), n-C29/n-C17 (8.04), and n- C17/n-C31 (0.15), as well as the pentacyclic triterpenoid group showed organic matter input from various sources. Through CPI parameters > 1, OEP > 1, Ts/(Ts+Tm) is 0, the ratio C30Mor/C30Hop is 0.58, and the ratio C31 – C34 (22S/(22S+22R)) is 0.59, 0.59 , 0.60, and 0.55 showed a low degree of maturity in the samples. The Pr/Ph ratio > 3, the presence of 4,4,8,8,9-pentamethyl decaline, the lower abundance of C31 – C34 homohopane, and the Hunt Diagram plot between Pr/n-C17 versus Ph/n-C18 showing the environment oxic deposition. The existence of several biomarkers in Seam HU-07 Coal indicates a varied input of organic matter but is dominated by terrestrial Angiospermae plants. However, the input of organic matter from the aquatic environment and bacteria was also detected in the Seam HU-07 Coal. Seam HU-07 coal of the Tanjung Formation, Barito Basin, Central Kalimantan is classified as a type III kerogen through the Hunt Diagram plot between Pr/n-C17 versus Ph/n-C18 which tends to produce gas (gas-prone) so it has the potential as a source of coalbed methane (CBM) in Indonesia.
