Abstract

Technological advancements have had a huge impact on the way people operate in different areas, including the maritime industry. The globalization of technology, particularly the internet and computerization systems, has altered the way people work, communicate, and interact in Southeast Asia and around the world's maritime industries. We know that ship stability has a significant impact on ship safety and the success of a ship operation. The arrangement of cargo placement on board is one of the aspects that determines a ship's high or low level of stability. As a result, we require a system capable of predicting ship stability and assisting in the planning of ship loading circumstances while moving. This study was carried out to develop a planning system for ship stability circumstances as a basis for the ship's crew to consider when employing consumable. In this research, the planning and determination of optimum ship stability conditions was carried out based on the ship's operating scheme. The research was conducted using the direct calculation method assisted by the Python programming language. Variations in ship loading conditions reviewed from this study consist of variations of 75%, 50%, 25%, and 10%. Each condition is varied into 3 (three) loading planning options. Furthermore, a simulation was carried out to test the options of these variations with the aim of providing the best value based on the IMO stability criteria. This design is implemented on a cargo ship model. In this research, the optimum stability simulation results were obtained with a loading planning step of option 75% (1), option 50% (1.1), option 25% (1.1.2), and option 10% (1.1.2.2). With the results that have been obtained, it is hoped that it can help the crew make better decisions (decision support) in choosing consumables that are in accordance with IMO stability criteria before starting the ship's voyage.
