Abstract

Dengan medan tertinggi saat kondisi isolator terkontaminasi air laut berturut-turut dengan kondisi terkontaminasi debu sebesar 266 kV/m dan 162 kV/m sedangkan saat kondisi normal sebesar 162 kV/m.=====Load Break Switch is one of many electrical instruments that take
part in low voltage electricity distribution networks which is suitable for
switching operations and its commonly used as a sectionalizer. It is
necessary to pay attention to its insulator which used to isolate the
voltage at the phase line so it will not flow to the distribution tower.
Insulators act to resist the ongoing large amount of electrical field that
will endanger living things and other instruments around the distribution
tower. In its application, there are several types of contaminants that will
affect its dielectric strength. So, an analysis of contaminant influence
upon its electrical field is critically needed.
In this study, had been done an analysis on its electrical field
distribution focused on its insulator using a Finite Element Method. This
analysis contains of electrical field comparison on Load Break Switch
insulator surface, between insulator in normal condition towards
seawater drops contaminated and normal condition towards sandy soil
contaminated. And the highest point of electrical field consecutively in
seawater contaminated and sandy soil contaminated in the value of 266
kV/m and 162 kV/m, meanwhile the value of its electrical field in
normal condition in the value of 162 kV/m.
