Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul "Pengaruh Penggunaan Bioaditif Minyak Kayu Putih Pada Biodiesel Komersial Pertamina Terhadap Performa Dan Emisi Gas Buang Pada Mesin Diesel" bertujuan untuk menyelidiki pengaruh penambahan bioaditif minyak kayu putih pada biodiesel komersial Pertamina terhadap performa dan emisi gas buang pada mesin diesel. Hasil eksperimen menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan bioaditif minyak kayu putih dalam biodiesel Pertamina memiliki dampak yang tidak signifikan pada performa mesin. Biodiesel dengan penambahan minyak kayu putih menghasilkan penurunan daya dan torsi dibandingkan dengan biodiesel Pertamina murni. Namun, konsumsi bahan bakar (SFOC) lebih efisien pada biodiesel dengan bioaditif minyak kayu putih dibandingkan dengan biodiesel Pertamina murni. Namun, penambahan bioaditif minyak kayu putih tidak secara signifikan mengurangi emisi gas buang dari mesin diesel. Kadar emisi gas seperti NOx, CO, dan HC tetap relatif sama antara biodiesel dengan bioaditif dan biodiesel Pertamina murni dan bahkan lebih rendah saat menggunakan biodiesel murni Pertamina. Dalam kesimpulannya, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa penambahan bioaditif minyak kayu putih pada biodiesel komersial Pertamina tidak dapat meningkatkan performa mesin dan juga tidak secara signifikan mengurangi emisi gas buang. Penelitian lanjutan dapat mengeksplorasi penggunaan bioaditif lain atau kombinasi dengan metode yang berbeda untuk mengoptimalkan performa dan mengurangi emisi gas buang pada biodiesel komersial Pertamina.

This study entitled "The Effect Of Using Eucalyptus Oil Bioadditive In Pertamina Commercial Biodiesel On Performance And Exhaust Emissions Of Diesel Engine" aims to investigate the impact of adding eucalyptus oil bioadditive to Pertamina's commercial biodiesel on the performance and exhaust emissions of a diesel engine. The experimental results show that the use of eucalyptus oil bioadditive in Pertamina biodiesel has an insignificant effect on engine performance. Biodiesel with the addition of eucalyptus oil exhibits a decrease in power and torque compared to pure Pertamina biodiesel. However, the specific fuel consumption (SFOC) is more efficient in biodiesel with eucalyptus oil bioadditive compared to pure Pertamina biodiesel. Nevertheless, the addition of eucalyptus oil bioadditive does not significantly reduce exhaust gas emissions from the diesel engine. Emission levels of gases such as NOx, CO, and HC remain relatively the same between biodiesel with the bioadditive and pure Pertamina biodiesel, and even lower when using pure Pertamina biodiesel. In conclusion, this study found that the addition of eucalyptus oil bioadditive to Pertamina's commercial biodiesel does not improve engine performance and does not significantly reduce exhaust emissions. Further research could explore the use of other bioadditives or combinations with different methods to optimize performance and reduce exhaust emissions in Pertamina's commercial biodiesel.
