Abstract
Pemanfaatan sampah plastik yang semakin meningkat dapat mengancam keberlanjutan lingkungan. Salah satu solusi yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan mendaur ulang sampah plastik menjadi material konstruksi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memanfaatkan sampah plastik sebagai substitusi agregat pada pembuatan road kerb serta melakukan karakterisasi dasar sifat mekanis dari road kerb yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental, yang meliputi beberapa tahap, yaitu pengumpulan sampah plastik, pengujian sifat fisik sampah plastik, pengujian sifat mekanis campuran sampah plastik dengan agregat, dan pembuatan road kerb dengan campuran sampah plastik sebagai substitusi agregat. Pengujian sifat mekanis yang dilakukan meliputi uji kuat tekan dan uji kelenturan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan sampah plastik sebagai substitusi agregat dalam pembuatan road kerb dapat mempengaruhi sifat mekanis material tersebut. Variasi jenis sampah plastik dan presentasenya memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda terhadap karakteristik road kerb. Semakin besar presentase sampah plastik maka semakin kecil kekuatan beton tersebut.

The increasing utilization of plastic waste can threaten environmental sustainability. One solution that can be done is to recycle plastic waste into construction materials. The purpose of this research is to utilize plastic waste as an aggregate substitution in the manufacture of road kerb and to characterize the basic mechanical properties of the resulting road kerb. This research was conducted using the experimental method, which includes several stages, namely collecting plastic waste, testing the physical properties of plastic waste, testing the mechanical properties of plastic waste mixtures with aggregates, and making road kerbs with a mixture of plastic waste as an aggregate substitute. The mechanical properties tests carried out include compressive strength tests and flexibility tests. The results showed that the use of plastic waste as an aggregate substitute in the manufacture of road kerb can affect the mechanical properties of the material. Variations in the type of plastic waste and its percentage have different effects on the characteristics of road kerb. The greater the percentage of plastic waste, the smaller the strength of the concrete.
