Abstract

commodity that is widely developed, including in Sampang, Madura. Egg quality is influenced by the high protein in the feed, because it is needed for albumin formation. Feed is a primary need with a cost of (70%) of the total production. Therefore, research on animal feed protein sources based on fishery waste is very strategic to be developed in coastal areas. Peperek (Leiognathus equulus) waste is found in the Banyuates area, Sampang, which has the potential to be used as fish silage which can increase the nutritional value. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of fish silage on the productivity of duck eggs. Twenty laying ducks were fed a feed with the composition of bran, corn, soybean, and fish silage with 4 treatment variations, namely 0%; 3%; 6% and 9% with treatment codes P0, P1, P2 and P3 respectively. Egg productivity data include weight(g); number (grain) and size (mm). The effect of additional fish silage on egg productivity was statistically analyzed using one way ANOVA. The results of the ANOVA test showed that the level of silage in the ration had a significant effect (P<0.05) on weight and size of eggs. Based on the Duncan test results, duck egg size in the P3 treatment had a significant effect (P<0.05), while the P0, P1 and P2 treatments had no effect. The results of the ANOVA test on the number of eggs reported that the level of silage in the ration had no significant effect (P>0.05).
