Abstract

Identification of accurate reservoir distribution is necessary in order to identify prospective and productive zones. One way to identify the distribution of reservoirs in the "Y" field is the inversion method. The inversion method used in this study is acoustic impedance inversion which can be relied upon to characterize the reservoir. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the best acoustic impedance inversion method and identifying the distribution of reservoirs in Field "Y". In this study there are 5 well data and PSTM 3D seismic data. The analytical method used is to compare the results of seismic cross-sections from 3 seismic inversion methods, namely Model based, Band-Limited, and Sparse spike to obtain a prospect layer of hydrocarbons. The best inversion is determined based on the smallest error value. After comparison of seismic cross-section results and pre-inversion analysis, the best method is the Model Based method, because the cross-section results are supportive and the error value is small and the correlation value is good. The smallest RMS error value in the model based inversion method is 1944.97 (ft/s)*(g/cc). It is known that the reservoir in Field "Y" is batupasirstone with an impedance value of 24139 – 26722 (ft/s) * (g/cc) with a porosity value of 20 – 23% and a depth of -935 – -950 m at the Top Bekasap and a depth of -1067 – -1078 m at the Bottom Bekasap
