Abstract

Fenomena sandwich generation terjadi ketika individu harus mengasuh dan menghidupi anak sekaligus orang tua. Mayoritas sandwich generation muncul pada keluarga yang memiliki pendapatan rendah dan rumah tangga yang dikepalai wanita cenderung berada dalam kondisi miskin karena keterbatasan jaminan sosial, ekonomi, serta akses pada standar hidup layak. Setidaknya sepertiga dari seluruh wanita berumur 18 tahun ke atas berpeluang menjadi pengasuh seumur hidup. Statistik prevalensi sandwich generation di Indonesia masih terbatas namun sebagai pendekatan aspek tersebut dapat diukur dengan angka rasio ketergantungan usia non-produktif terhadap penduduk produktif yang pada tahun 2020 mencapai 44,3%. Jawa Timur menempati peringkat ketiga provinsi berpenduduk tua tertinggi dengan persentase lansia 12,96%. Wanita Kepala Rumah Tangga (WKRT) dalam kategori sandwich generation mencapai 9,9% atau 133 dari 1.345 WKRT di Jawa Timur. Metode regresi logistik biner digunakan untuk menganalisis pengaruh faktor yang diduga berhubungan dengan status WKRT sandwich generation. Karakteristik yang signifikan berpengaruh terhadap kejadian WKRT sandwich generation adalah status perkawinan, usia WKRT, dan jumlah anggota rumah tangga yang dikepalai WKRT. Ketepatan klasifikasi model sebesar 89,6%. Ditinjau berdasarkan nilai odds ratio, jumlah anggota rumah tangga menjadi faktor yang memiliki pengaruh paling besar terhadap kejadian WKRT berstatus sandwich generation dengan risiko WKRT berstatus sandwich generation meningkat sebanyak 2,575 kali jika jumlah anggota rumah tangga bertambah setiap satu anggota.

The phenomenon of sandwich generation occurs when individuals have to care for and support both children and parents. The majority of sandwich generations happen in families with low incomes and households headed by women tend to be in poor conditions due to limited social and economic security, as well as access to a decent standard of living. At least one-third of all women aged 18 years and over are tormented by being a caregiver for a lifetime. Statistics on the prevalence of sandwich generation in Indonesia can be measured by the non-productive age dependency ratio to the productive population which in 2020 reached 44,3%. East Java is ranked third in the province with the highest elderly population with 12,96% elderly proportion. Female Heads of Household in the sandwich generation category reached 9,9% or 133 out of 1.345 in East Java. The binary logistic regression method was used to analyze the influence of factors thought to be related to the status of female heads of households as sandwich generation. Characteristics that significantly influence the occurence of female heads of households as sandwich generation are marital status, age, and number of household members headed by females. The accuracy of the classification model is 89,6%. In terms of the odds ratio value, the number of household members is the factor that has the greatest influence on the evidence of female heads of households as sandwich generation, with the risk for female heads of households being sandwich generation to increase by 2,575 times if the number of household members increases for every one member.
