Abstract

Pengembangan energi terbarukan panas bumi di Indonesia untuk keperluan listrik selama 25 tahun kebelakang masih sangat kecil, yaitu sekitar 4% dari total energi nasional. Padahal Indonesia memiliki cadangan energi panas bumi yang sangat besar mencapai 20.000 MW atau sekitar 40 % dari cadangan panas bumi dunia. Dengan adanya potensi panas bumi tersebut, maka PT. Pertamina (Persero) mendirikan anak perusahaan yang bernama PT. Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE). PGE bergerak dalam bidang eksplorasi energi panas bumi dari hulu hingga hilir, salah satu wilayah kerja perusahaan tersebut adalah PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Area Kamojang (PGE Area Kamojang). Pada 11 Desember 2007, PLTP Kamojang Unit IV dibangun dengan kapasitas 60 MW yang dioperasikan oleh PGE Area Kamojang dan diresmikan oleh Presiden Republik Indonesia.

The development of geothermal renewable energy in Indonesia for electricity needs over the past 25 years is still very small, namely around 4% of the total national energy. Pertamina (Persero) established a subsidiary company named PT. Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE). PGE is engaged in geothermal energy exploration from upstream to downstream, one of the company's working areas is PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Area Kamojang (PGE Area Kamojang). On December 11, 2007, PLTP Kamojang Unit IV was built with a capacity of 60 MW operated by PGE Kamojang Area and inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia
