Abstract

Tahap Safety Social Engineering (SSE) terbukti menjadi criticality success factor keberhasilan Safety Challenge.

Occupational safety has always been a special concern in the industry. Companies invest to avoid work accidents. But not all companies have an adequate budget for it. In this condition, a culture of safe behavior plays an important role in preventing work accidents. A culture of safe behavior is also not a condition that arises by itself. Management is needed which includes Plan, Do, Check & Action (PDCA) activities so that safe behavior can become a corporate culture. A safe behavior culture program and relevant measurement tools are needed to measure the level of progress of safe behavior. This allows an evaluation to be carried out regarding the improvement in the rating of the culture of safe behavior. In order to improve the OHS culture, the Safety Challenge activity with the action research method is carried out in 3 stages, namely: the Education Stage, the OHS Competition and Safety Social Engineering (SSE). Through 120 weeks of Safety Challenge stages, there was an increase in the patrol culture from 10.29% to 100% of all employees involved. UP Paiton as the power generation unit with the best implementation, is 1.01 times better than UP Muara Karang which is in second place. The Safety Social Engineering (SSE) stage proved to be a critical success factor for the success of the Safety Challenge. This creates an opportunity for management to be able to improve efforts to prevent work accidents by focusing on closing findings and identifying reporting quality.
