Abstract

Program keluarga berencana (KB) merupakan suatu upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatur kelahiran anak, menjaga jarak dan usia yang ideal dalam melahirkan, dan memberikan bantuan sesuai dengan hak reproduksi untuk mencapai keluarga yang berkualitas. Keluarga memiliki tanggung jawab untuk menerapkan fungsi-fungsinya guna menciptakan fondasi yang sehat dan ideal dalam masyarakat. Pemerintah telah memfasilitasi penerapan delapan fungsi keluarga yang dijalankan oleh Badan Kependudukan dan Keluarga Berencana Nasional (BKKBN) yang dikenal dengan delapan fungsi keluarga. Sampai saat ini belum diketahui secara pasti pengaruh dari karakteristik dan fungsi keluarga terhadap penggunaan KB di Provinsi Jawa Timur. Oleh karna itu penelitian perlu dilakukan untuk mengetahui hal tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode regresi logistik biner dengan variabel respon penggunaan KB dan variabel prediktor karakteristik dan fungsi keluarga. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dari 1825 rumah tangga di Provinsi Jawa Timur sebanyak 74,8% menggunakan KB dan 25,2% lainnya tidak menggunakan KB. Variabel fungsi cinta kasih, fungsi sosialisasi dan pendidikan, fungsi ekonomi dan jumlah anak dengan usia kurang dari 6 tahun memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap penggunaan KB di Provinsi Jawa Timur.

Family Planning program (KB) is an effort to regulate childbirth, maintain the ideal spacing and age for childbirth, and aid in accordance with reproductive rights to achieve quality families. Families have the responsibility to apply their functions to create a healthy and ideal foundation in society. The government has facilitated the implementation of the eight functions of the family, carried out by the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN), known as the eight family functions. However, the specific influence of family characteristics and functions on the use of KB in East Java Province is not yet known. Therefore, research is needed to determine this relationship. This study employs the binary logistic regression method with the response variable being the use of KB and the predictor variables being the characteristics and functions of the family. The results of this study show that out of 1825 households in East Java Province, 74,8% use KB, while the remaining 25,2% don’t. The variables of the function of love, the function of socialization and education, the function of economic, and the number of children under 6 years old have a significant influence on the use of KB in East Java Province.
